Yes, they did. The descendents have the same ability as the ancestors.

Of course it is. What do you expect, it to jump to an elephant in one step?

    That wasn't the aim.

No, you obviously didn't read it, or understand it. Produce Ci? lol

    They're in the journal article.

What? These were genetic mutations occurring, going from not being able to metabolise citrate to being able to use it as a carbon source.

    In the article.

Bacteria grown in the absence of citrate

Brother Walsh. That articled proved nothing nor offered any evidence. They did not evolve into a new isolated reproducing species. They grew larger cells that produced new proteins not seen in past generations. This doe not prove a mutation. LOL

You said at first yes, then no. Which is it ? LOL

What was the aim of the article ?

What do you mean isolated reproducing species? If a specimen develops an ability it did not have before, from a combination of very unlikely mutations, and gives birth to descendents with the same ability, is that not a new type of specimen which is reproducing?

He is at the right hand of God as we speak! He is coming for his own, soon in a city near you.

Brother, he did not just die on the cross, he ascended back up to heaven three days later. I tell you the truth.

I mean into a entirely new species. A species is defined by isolation in reproduction from a common population. Or a split or divergence from one gene frequency into a isolated frequency that reproduces in isolation from other kinds.

If a specimen develops the ability to pass on mutations it would be harmful. There has not been one recording of positive mutations being passed on. Mutations are negative and do not evolve any species into new species for the fact that they are defective and the phenotype expressed is always bad for reproduction...

Now, the cells in the article did not pass on mutations. What they did not tell you was that the Bactria already had the information in its genetic code to pass this on...but it was dominate in the populations and by reproducing generations later it surfaced again in the population and was expressed. This was possible because there were enough time for the genetics to combine in that fashion.

Don't be a foolish man, not to say you are.

Defining species is difficult for unicellular organisms, we can't use the same definition as for sexual organisms, for obvious reasons. I would have thought you'd be against defining species at all, being so against humanism.

But that's exactly what this study shows - when the bacteria is starving, being able to use citrate for food helps it. So those bacteria are more likely to survive and pass that ability on. That's not negative, it's positive. Most mutations are negative, though, you're right.

You're going to have to talk english, sorry, because I don't understand. "it was dominate in the populations" - what does that mean? Are you a native english speaker? (not to be insulting)

Alright listen. I understand that your dedicated. But I never pointed to any flaws about you. I never critiqued you as a person, so in all fairness I expect you to do the same. Out of respect.

"Someting is off inside you" Pshh. Something is off inside everyone of us. Doesn't necessarily mean its 'off' in a bad way

My children went to a private catholic school and learned about evolution and dinosaurs. But they also had to learn to read, write and pray in latin.
I'm certain that outside of a university course, very few of today's youth learn latin.

To that effect faith has two roadblocks.

    1) Ignorance.
I don't care if you scream you love Jesus and flagellate yourself all day long. If you're an uneducated or an unworldly bum, you can not have true faith and must resolve yourself to blind obedience.

    2) Hollywood and television and computers.
You can not love God if you can not love your neighbor. And you can not love your neighbor if you can not love yourself.
To have true faith you must love God. And to love God you must show in word and deed compassion and love to others. But every single day the people of our society are pumped up with violent images in films and video games and on TV. Murder, death, war, horror, etc are all considered acceptable entertainment. Images that are just as addictive to the psyche as crack cocaine is to the body.

This garbage has numbed the public mind to the point that common sense and critical thinking are impaired. They follow blindly and patriotically corrupt individuals doing everything for them. Everything from killing and torturing of fellow humans to proudly displaying the flag when informed of the death of their own children serving in the military.

Evolution may or may not be true. Whereas Hollywood kills millions of minds, leaving only the living brain dead.

Today in the world a child will die of hunger, a man will murder another and a species of animal will go extinct. While an uncaring businessman and corrupt politician will drink champagne to toast their success. And in the midst of all this; You worry about if children believe in dinosaurs.

My advice is that if you want to do the work of God. Go volunteer at a soup kitchen to feed the homeless. In fact, I'm going to take my own advice and I'll see everyone in about a week.

    Sing it brother.

I would also note that Hollywood is a major tool for molding and forming public mind sets...it is defiantly a tool to get people away from God and to push NWO agenda. Soon, we will be surfs in a dark age. I'm not kidding. We may not be alive to see it, but the subtle moves are in motion, the die has been cast. If you pay attention to themes in movies you will know what I am talking about. It's sad how wordily and away from God it all is...there is a reason why.

You see, it all fits into the bigger picture and Evolution is the foundation. When communism first got off the ground they did not teach communism...they taught evolution. Think about that, brother VoT

You do not need to be worldly to love God or to be loved by him. You can be of any social demographic and it matters little. Poor, rich, materials, a bum...

It is no shock that the Catholic Church Teaches Evolution, because they are part of the New World Order. They put a front on Christ to usher in a means to our very own end. They are an end game church...a bad one. Not to say all catholics are this way but the highest levels of this Church support evolution, homosexuality, aliens and other blasphemous doctrines. -definitely not the word of God.

The Vatican created Islam in the beginnings of the Church to acquire land...it was a plot and Islam never stopped.

This church is not right. Not to say all who attend are part of the problem for their are many in it who genuinely love the Lord. As probably you do.

Brother EVOLUTION is a road block to faith. Wordily materials, or wordily education is not necessary for faith. belief is and a good relationship with the trinity. You are not of this world, you are a child of God. Blind obedience ? LOL You do not need a wordily education to love good, because the world education is working hard under a humanist world view (evolution as a foundation) to split people away from God. 90% of people attending publicl universities lose their faith the first year..hmm I wonder why ? The bible and keeping your eye on the light of Gods grace is the way. Not the world or its wordily advice.

My advice is to follow your leanings with the Lord. For I am working to win him souls and to spread the truth about evolution.

    Peace.

Correct. I am not saying anything is off in a bad way but something is off if you do not accept Christ as your salvation. He is the only way. That is the truth. So you can understand why I said that. I certainly do not want to sit here and say you are bad, because we all are (sin).

So if that is fair to you then its cool with me too.

Brother Walsh, please go study evolution and come back to me once you have a better understanding.

This article provides no evidence for evolution at all.

"it was dominate in the populations"

opps, In the article, the bacteria are said to have "mutated" or "evolved" a new phenotype...but this was actually just a genetic code that was not previously expressed in the populations, thus, remaining DORMANT until enough time passed (generations) for that citrate producing gene to resurface into the population down the road, after enough combinations occured...This happens a lot. Meaning the genetic code was, is and will be the exact same as it has, though the shuffling of it has a lot of phenotype possiblities...Still, its the same exact strain of DNA. Nothing has evolved LOL

The article leaves out so much information...there is a reason for that.

This does in no way show any evidence for evolution. All mutations are bad and thus of no use for this theory. Humans have recorded mutations in the genetic code...it's called down syndrome. LOL That does not increase success in reproduction !

I'm done with this article. Please bring forth yet another bit of rethoric...

Yeah sorry, but no. I don't think you've studied any science at all, because you still don't understand the article. The bacteria didn't produce citrate! Besides, we can do genome sequencing, so we'd know if it is a dormant gene in E.Coli that wasn't expressed:

I suppose if E.Coli started to talk you'd say that was dormant too. It sounds like you're just throwing out high school biology terms without any understanding.

Nothing will change your mind. So at the moment I'll just have to endorse the statement that:
