Mine is not in California. I have no idea about the mountain. Vegetation on the slopes, but also weathering from rain. I'm guessing a short growing season following heavy downpours, then cold and dryness. Not many trees in the foreground so I'm thinking Pacific Northwest U.S. or more likely British Columbia or Alberta. (At least that's how I imagine those areas are!) Looks like someone is living in Skip's cave. Doesn't look like an archeological dig. Not underground, to much light. Here's another clue for my mystery tour picture.
I found it I used search terms but not an image search. This is the sort of thing that if you haven't been there and aren't using a search engine, there's no chance that you are going to guess it.
Looks like some kind of archaeological dig going on, or are they guano mining? H
Krishna connection - but I don't think either of them is Krishna. Chaitanya maybe.... India is way too obvious, so I'm going to guess a Hare Krishna place somewhere in the US.
I have it. One clue is that it seems to be an authentic Roman Arena, which means that it's probably not too far from the mediterranean. Another is that it appears to have lights and other modern elements, so it's still in use.
That's a good clue. I was thinking of a good clue for mine but since newbie one gave a few clear hints already I will just reveal that it was the castle in the city of Nuremberg (which I think we all know by name because of it's significance in a later period in history). More in the southern part of Germany. There's a youth hostel in the castle now. We slept in it once on the way to Sziget (Budapest).
(just a footnote ....as every time I see the title of this thread this song goes through my head....what is the word that has been changed from where).... Fun game this thread is...but I really donot have much clues with most of the photos...unless I do the detective work.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjAiTQKFrW8
No, they are not harvesting guano at that site...although that was a good guess. The water should provide a clue to location.
