you still have them, but I think, when we really want to accomplish peace and awareness we should organize better maybe a festival but not as drug ridden as woodstock?
Hey, I'm all for pot people but maybe we gotta lay off the hard stuff and alcoholics? Sure a festival can be big fun without drugs, its about the experience in itself I think, not the clouding of your head
Maybe we should leave the festival a fun and free experience and focus on spreading ideals via some different way than a festival if we can't bare with the drunk and high people. Most people come to a festival to feast, not to indulge in ideals and hippie viewpoints. I'm all for those stands you see at some big festivals like Glastonbury and Lowlands that try to spread awareness on a certain subject, but I always admired them for just standing there, try to do their thing and not bother and judge all the intoxicated festivalpeople. I surely can have a blast without alcohol and hard drugs as well, but if alcohol was restricted from festivals (hard drugs are already but they're still there ) I would let my ideals speak
Well, what were you thinking of? I think a festivity thing would be the best way to get people together next to the internet. Rainbow gatherings also seem great to me, but I live in europe and they;re always too far away for me to go..
I think there's nothing to organize. If there was a mass amount of hippies wanting to get organized they would already have. Most people that see themselves as a hippie seem to rather talk about the good old days and do their own thing. Most people that want action and make a change joined one of the organizations that could be considered part of the green movement nowadays (although some of them were around before it got so hyped) or are just chitchatting about change without actually doing anything. A good festival would probably be the best way, I agree. But you have to keep in mind that most festival visitors come for the music and the party (even at woodstock). I live in Europe as well by the way.
