I do believe that the way the employment laws are set up, it's to increase minorities (visible or otherwise) in the workplace. Like, a certain percentage of the workforce needs to a minority. It's mostly a protection in place for minorities, to reduce discrimination and keep minorities in the workforce, from what I understand.

And it isn't that they hire you because they need to fill their minority quota. If you fully qualified and personable etcetc, and you happen to be a minority, you will likely get the job. Again, this is just what I remember from my business law class 2 years ago.

Anyways, I work at a bowling alley, woot doot a loot doot! I am a bar tender/do whatever-er! And a full-time university student (which would be so much nicer if I was the one being paid :( )

The first time I was 7 yrs. old and underestimated the force and the magnitude of the water that was used to flush me down some horrible water slide at a water park. It made me very disoriented and then spit me into a pool that was ridiculously deep...well it was prob only 6 ft or something...but I was little. Some guy that looked like Michael J Fox saved me. Ahh my hero.
The second time...I had no excuse. It was last year. oops. Shoulda known better then to try and swim across a massive river with a strong current. A friend of mine saw me struggling and getting washed away and ran down the river and onto a big ass branch of some tree that was leaning over the river. He actually pulled me out as I went under by my britches. In retrospect it mustve been a verry comical sight.

    ahhh you're that little girl...

i used to work at a water park and thats how most kids drown. the current by the end of the slide is a vortex, it swallows babies. so seriously, mothers and fathers out there, listen to me when i say "your child isn't tall enough to ride this slide" because i know your kid is too short to stand up at the bottom of this ride.

open water swimming is dangerous, you had to learn the hard way, thats too bad. i'm glad someone was there for you because the situation may have turned for the worst.

also, its a travesty that i get paid barely more than minimum wage, because of all the people i've saved there must be a million dollars in lawsuits that were never filed because no one ever died on my watch.

one time i was moonlighting as a waiter and a couple came in, i'd saved their kid from drowning that very summer, they didn't even remember me. bunch of ingrates.

Holy shitmonkey.... I thought that only happened in the movies.

I've nearly drowned once in Queensland. We were 10 and me and my friend were having a 'Who can swim the furthest out competition. Coincidently we both started drowning :/
