I have asked this question to a lot of my friends too: If you had the chance of going back in time once to see what it was like, when and where would you go?
well, what first came to mind, actually the reason for me asking my friends, was Woodstock. A lot of them said the same thing before I spoke about that. Cool friends huh But there have been a lot more things I would've wanted to be.
ummm if i went back to tommorow i would go to the gas station so i could get the winning lotto numbers...but otherwise i dunno..maybe the 60's-70's out to california and meet george jung! not sure good question tho...
as for when... the 60s, hands down. where? probably somewhere in california, like haight ashbury maybe.
The Cretaceous Period. I would like to see how the dinosaurs perished and witness the breakup of supercontinent Pangaea and the emergence of flowering plants. Why would anyone want to go back to the 60's- only 40 yrs. ago? Not interesting.
I would briefly like to take a trip back to the renaissance era and I would have also liked to have been around during the time of Jesus
I wanna go back and see who built Stonehenge. I wanna see Rome and Greece when they were the peak of power. I think it might be cool to go see exactly how the Egyptian Pyramids were built. I wanna go see the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
because you would most likely be alone, and be aten! see, mine is sure to be a good time... yours is a bit more of a chance.
if i could travel in time i'd rather go forward or sideways, but if i were to visit someplace in the past i'd like to see minoen crete. check out the ancient prechristian greek library at alexandria. leave temple offerings at bubastis, and of course meet prince sidartha and lao tsu, and maybe come back up and work for the nevada county narrow gauge railroad. and i would like to at least visit first hand the maidu way of life as it was at least three or four hundred years ago. the other cultures malitiously destroyed for their inconvenience to eurochrister assumptions before their encroachment i'd like to see too. the ohian and mississipian, and of course the onondagwan. celtic cymri before the vekings i'd like to see too. and mohenjo daro in it's day as well. nepal during it's first kingdom and tibet when it was run by the lama's of lhassa. and switzerland when it's electric narrow gauges were first being built.
