well it really depends, for most people its just the hi thing but if i kinda know someone thru someone else it might be a hug ... and when its my oma's dutch friends or relatives from holland that ive never met i get "halo halo! olivia fun tao hoe gaat het!! fun tao .. ya ya" and then the cheek to cheek to cheek kiss and the hugging and the holding of my hand itts very european
It depends on the vibes, the other person's reaction and if that person is a friend of a friend. So I may either hug, just say hi or sometimes touch the person's shoulder or hip while talking to them. I'm a really touch-y kind of girl, and sometimes people are uncomfortable about that...
I either shake hands or just say hello, depending on the situation. I don't know that I've ever hugged someone the very first time I met them. I'd feel awkward.
Hmm, I always shake hands firmly... Your handshake says a lot about you, if you apply less presure than her, you'll live your life under her shoe But I shake hands if I greet them, and if I'm talking to someone else who they're with, but I just kinda have to greet them, I wave and say hi (I know I know... but I wave this really stupid way, and I love to wave ) I sometimes greet new people with a hug, but only if they "start" and if it's a man who tries to hug me, it really depends on who he is... If he just looks like a loving fella he gets a hug But if he looks sly and possibly gayish, I take a step backwards and reach out my hand
if its a stranger, hi. if its a friend, usually hi (i have one friend who i always hug, hes very huggable). and then it kinda depends on how they greet you too. i met someone from honduras who hugged and kissed me, so i just went with it.
What can I say other than that wasn't the way I was taught? I can say I've never Lived under a woman's shoe after shaking her hand... *g*
nah it's an extreme but still... you gotta have a handshake that represents you... weird as that may sound
it depends on the situation. if i'm at a bar or social event, i say hi. if it has to do with work or at an art gallery or a dinner, i shake hands.
physically i always hug people but greeting with words i like to throw people off a bit say ahoy or hello in a different language
It depends if they seem cool i'll give them some form of a five, if i'm not feeling their vibe i'll usually say "hey" and throw up a piece sign. And of course if they're black i'll give em' the top secret Black people hand shake (oh yes, it exists)
It depends on the person and the situation. If it is a good friend then I'll usually give them a hug and say hi. Casual friend I'll just give the traditional "Howzit?" If I am meeting someone new then it's usually a more formal "hi, nice to meet you" and shake their hand.
"so...what's your name?..how's life?" if i say anything. i'm pretty shy, so i don't really talk to many people unless it's at a party. i seem to be more outgoing at parties.
