Great means different things to different people.

 

If Trump is convicted in the impeachment trial, that would be a huge step towards making our country great again, but I'm not holding my breath.

 

Not forgetting Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, then there was Iraq & Afghanistan !!!

 

Sadly he was acquitted, but though we didn't convict him, I think we've ruined him. Though I'm not 100% sure.

 

The MAGA crowd still backs him and would gleefully vote for him again in a instant, but at least we now have definitive proof that he and they are un-American and traitors to everything this country stands for. And since the GOP acquitted him, they are unmistakably the party of Trump. McConnel tried to play both sides of the fence today, but the only one that matters is the un-American/pro-Trump/pro-insurrection vote. His little speech was just so he could claim he doesn't hate America.

But, yeah, Trump's name is probably ruined. Nobody (except for maybe Putin) is going to pay to use his name on any hotel or casino. Or steaks.

And this is far from over for him. There are several lawsuits and criminal investigations pending. He's going to be tied up in courts for the next few years. He could even be charged with murder since he orchestrated the activities that resulted in the deaths of six people and injuries of many more. And if he's forced to testify, since he's incapable of telling the truth, they could get him for perjury.

 

Yes but the MAGA crowd has dwindled and will continue to do so.

 

He has ruined himself. he has hurt the GOP brand. His true belivers are in the minority

 

His legal challenges will keep him occupied for a while. Even if he beats them all, which seems more unlikely now, by the time he's done with it he'll have been out of the political picture for so long that his grip on the Republican Party has weakened considerably. And if he's convicted in any of the trials? He'll appeal them for years until he either dies or grabs what he has left and splits to Brazil. Better than he deserves, but he needs to be kept out of holding any office ever again.

Nobody but nobody can claim colonialism was good for the colonized. It wasn’t good for those in the America before the colonists arrived, it wasn’t good for former Asian colonies, and most certainly has not been good for Africans. Trump is a symptom of the worst America has to offer. He has brought to light the inherent racism in the republican party, their self serving cowardice and of course the party has always been for the monied class and has worked and WILL work against the working class. If it were up to the republicans, there would be no safety nets, no social security, the rich would pay little or no income taxes, no minimum wage, no regulations of ANY kind on businesses, the continuation of huge tax loopholes that allow multi billion corporations to pay no taxes, etc,etc. Much of that is already true,

Trumps cultists will be influencing the direction of the party for years to come and I have no doubt that more people like Greene and the like will get elected and those types will acquire more and more power and influence over those that think violence will be justified and is needed to---"save the country." A great percentage are still buying the lie that the election was stolen and that trump was screwed out of another term, perpetuated by the lying prick himself. If the democrats can get eight years henceforth--maybe--just maybe , the damage trump has done in and out of the government can be reversed. But what about the willfully blind legislators and the millions of citizens that revere a lousy human being such as trump? Is deprogramming possible by the current administration doing good works? Can America ever be truly great for all of its citizens ? For the citizens of the world? Time--of course--will tell.

 

America has been great from the beginning and Trump didn't knock it down. He was under attck his entire presidency and charged with fake accusations. Your idea is novis at best, and isn't worth much time by the statment you spewed out and jumped from one subject to another.
