You've made all those points before which means I've refuted them before. Particularly since your entire first paragraph there is a deliberate misconstruction of single payer healthcare. We've definitely been round about that one once or twice
E-leftists are funny you guys bitch and moan about living in a red state. Being surrounded by “hatred and ignorance.” Having no liberal friends to vibe with. And trump loving, flag waving rednecks everywhere. Yet when you hear an opinion that doesn’t line up with yours on a random message board. You short circuit and shit a brick
Who isn't oppressed? Our whole world revolved around it. For the record, most of the people who have oppressed me have been white. So even suggesting that it doesn't happen to white people is terribly naive.
Lots of people. Kinda depends where you are. But generally speaking, where I come from, heterosexual white males are not oppressed.
Still paddling up that long river in Africa? Statistically speaking, there seems to be a racial component, to put it mildly--race being a matter of perception and social definition. You missed my point. Oppression is not exclusively racial, and it is not quantifiably worse or better for anyone simply because of color. It's like hate, a human concept that any human can experience. Forcing people into war is oppression of a magnitude, sure, but again, it's not about color, anyone can be drafted. Well, except women!
We don't draft women in the US. But all men have to register for the draft at age 18. That's all I'm speaking to with that.
True. But did a female institute this? Dont forget up until very recently women weren't allowed to serve in combat roles. Now Trumps ban on transgenders puts more strain on cisgendered soldiers. If the status quo wants to claim they're being oppressed, at least acknowledge we all have the same oppressors. It's not just female judges defaulting to the mothers in custody cases. Difference is my oppressors don't look like me. How can you advocate for your group when your group are the ones keeping you down too? It's not the female dominated DOD who drafted men only. It's not the black DOD that tried to keep African Americans out of combat. The white man's burden is put upon him by white men Maybe that's all irrelevant
I see no value in lamenting policies that were reversed or made right decades ago in a discussion of today's matters. Also, burden is burden, anyone who works and pays taxes knows this well. That's not a race issue, it's a class issue. And Class issues are at the center of most of our social and economic problems. Shit simply isn't "fair". We're walking around with brains made for living in the wild 50,000 years ago. People aren't going to be perfect anytime soon. They like to dominate.
