The stress level on a successful African American male or female in an environment in which they’ve achieved so much but are still not recognized as equals by their white colleagues is tremendous. That level of stress on a childbearing female is a contributing cause to the highest infant mortality rate in the free world. Hotwater
So, wait a minute...it's white people's fault that black infants have a higher mortality rate? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the gist I'm getting here.
And how would they know that they're not recognized as equals by their white colleagues? Are you saying all white people are inherently racist and discriminate against their black coworkers? Sorry, but I am calling bullshit on this one.
yeah, it kinda bugs me. after all, i could say that everyone treating me like i was just a vehicle for breasts kept me down in the workplace and led to my difficult pregnancies. but that's still not on THEM, it's on me and in MY head. yeah, there's a lotta fucking dicks out there, but mostly not.
So all white people contribute to the problem of racism, simply because they're white? I am sorry, but if you are alleging that, then I think perhaps you are the one who's racist, and that maybe you like to project your own hate on to others. Just a thought.
No, all white people do not contribute to the problem of racism, most merely close their eyes and benefit from it Hotwater
bull. it's constantly in our face how racist we are as a race. it's constantly brought and hammered on. most people just want to go to work. if a white guy doesn't get ahead or treated with respect, it's not called racism. it's put on his back to get over. but if a woman doesn't excel it's a "glass ceiling" and / or sexism. no, i don't fully buy in.
This is a debate that needs to be heard and addressed, and if it requires race relations to take a step back, before we take a step forward then so be it Hotwater
i'm all for this shit being hashed out. maybe it's where i'm from, but i haven't ever seen much of it. i tend not to live in places where people still give a shit what color their neighbor or coworker is.
Racism continues because of racial pride, on all sides. Period. Eliminate color from your perception and the whole world changes. I've said it time and time again. This notion of creating equality for all races is what fuels racism today. How about equality for people? I've been made fun of so many times for saying this, but I'll say it again: I don't know blacks, jews, and racists. I know people with dark skin, people of different faith, and people with different opinions. Call me hippy or whatever but I'm accepted by people of all walks of life because I truly feel this and it shows every time I greet somebody that I see them no different than I see me. Beyond greeting and meeting, it's all about personal experience and vibe.
No one wants to be seen as the bad guy, but the long dark drawn out history between our two peoples can’t be denied, nor ongoing events which have contributed to a higher than normal infant mortality rate hotwater
True and when one side tips the scales in their favor, the study has shown that babies begin to die on the other side Hotwater
well, you know, who gives a shit about hte soul of a white boy? being white doesn't mean you're advantaged, either. the gate swings both ways. a whole lotta white kids who never did anything to anyone are sidelined and told to get over it. that doesn't help ANYONE get over it. you know there's so many times when i wanna speak openly, ask questions about how people go about int he world, but you CAN'T ASK. you can't for one moment express a doubt, a concern, anything without being set aside as just another ignorant white trash bigot. yeah, there's a whole LOAD of fucked up shit out there, but i'm not the one not inviting black people into my sphere of existance.
But what do you mean? Blacks and other minorities only are allowed to show pride over their race. If white people do, then they're racist skinheads. Personally, I think to have pride over one's race is rather silly, especially when we're all human and of the same creator. I never look at people in terms of their skin color, I judge people only based on the individual. The controllers have used race to their benefit, to get us fighting amongst ourselves instead of uniting. It's called divide and conquer, and it's working for them.
This is just teaser, a warm up, the beginning of the debate before the controversial study is published and the two researchers land a book deal - Oh my! Hotwater
i'm not even going to get in to the whole racism discussion... i'll just say that you can't really put much faith in one single study, no matter what the subject is. generally before something is considered true it is put to the test in several studies, usually by a few different parties. and commonly a couple of those studies will have a different result than the majority. not to mention the fact that there is no way, when observing real world subjects, to absolutely cut out all other possible causes and say that it's definitely any specific catalyst
What people like Hotwater fail to realize is that there's plenty of impoverished white people out there who are struggling as well, and that number is only going to increase as the economy continues to topple. To think black people are the only ones who have it bad is to not see the big picture. The real struggle is not black vs. white. It's us vs. them. When I say it's us vs. them, I am referring to the ruling elite versus the average person who works from paycheck to paycheck just to make ends meet. The gap between the rich and the poor is getting smaller and smaller, and it's not only black people being affected by this.
