When I think about how everything's a black endless void after you die..

I wish..

 

There has to be something after death, the though otherwise frightens me. I can't acknowledge that there will be nothing, that one minute you are there and are aware of everything, then the next minute nothing. I don't like it and I wont accept it, so there.

 

Hey I feel a lot of what you're saying. For me it is an ego thing. I like this guy, he's the most important person in my life. Maybe this is the angle of attack. Rather than dwelling on my death it is time to learn how to let go.

You probably (who ever knows) have time to learn quite a bit about how to accept/fight/understand/? death. There are great writings from over the ages as each person that has ever existed or exists has had to grapple with this.

Currently, I am reading a book called "The Power of Now". I believe it has a lot of truth in it. There are many others, many religions, many beliefs, many philosophies, many psychologies...

There are many paths to explore and you are definitely not alone.

 

I think by the time you're in say your 70s you won't be so scared.
Course, you could die before then, it happens.

I used to feel that way when I was a kid too, it made me feel like I would suffocate. Now I just know that it can't be any harder than life itself. Trust me.

I sometimes want something bad to happen to me so my fear of death would fade. Horrible.

one day, you'll be weary of this earth and ready to go. maybe that day will come sooner than you think, life is short after all. you wouldnt want to outlive your children, your friends, the people you love. death comes for a reason.

my point i guess is that when you finally get to that point you will have nothing to fear.
