It's not looking more alive by saying it will never die. It probably only strengthen the opinion of those who think it's dead that the only people here who say it's still alive are hopeless optimists.
So, of course it's great you think it never dies, just saying it probably doesn't work out the right way in this thread. :D

Personally I think true rock died with the coming of Nirvana on the scene, but hey who knows for sure.

It seems that for most of the posters, reports of rock n' roll's death have been greatly exaggerated.

I think that it's still alive. It's alive as long as we, the fans, keep on listening.
It may be dying in the sense that not very much good stuff is being written nowadays... But has rock 'n' roll died? Nah, never.

But the truth is, it's all subjective. Everyone has their own opinion.

    So, cheers, and rock on.

Some opinions are based on misinformation.

That it's alive as long as people are listening to the records is indeed a personal opinion (which I do not agree with by the way :D). That it never will die is only wishful thinking of course.
That I myself do not think it has died is because I have the proof

    Rock 'n' Roll never 'died'
Though it may mutate and take different forms, it is the basis for a lot of 'foot tappin' motivation to gyration.
Though it may mutate and take different forms, whilst there are those who, sing, play guitar, with bass rythm and drum to a beat in a room / garage or upon the streets with heart and soul long will it continue
    - and, it is the basis for all musical revolution

To say that rock will never die is wishful thinking is.........WISHFUL THINKING!!:):)
The types of music that will INEVITably DIE OUT are disco music (made only for the summer charts), hip hop, commercial rap, etc.

    CHEERS!

Tool is a great modern rock band in my opinion, there's still great music to be played and heard!:)

Don't let a few(alright the gross majority) bad apples ruin the whole bunch for you!

I agree Tool is a valid example that it didn't die but I don't really like their music. Happily todays rock music is pretty diverse.

So you're saying I wish rock dead? :p

Rock and roll died two times and honestly just an opinion but i think it died in 1971 when jim morrison died though he thought that rock and roll was dead because "The Blues had happend" But honestly rock and roll existed a long time till about mid 1980's when rap was just gaining momentum than we had metal, grunge, punk, rap, techno all those contributed to the death of rock and roll but rock will come back we just have to wait till rap goes away and rock and roll will make its amazing come back and will blow our minds lets just hope it happens soon Cheers
