Has anyone else read this? I'm about half way done and I'm really finding it inspiring. Sad in places about how some scientists test on animals to find out if they have emotions like humans, but interesting all around on their findings.

It's so sad how some still have the mentality that we are rulers of all animals and the earth so we can exploit it as much as possible. It sickening really...I mean if you believe what the bible says that we rule all animals and the earth, that's cool but do you really think God wants us to exploit as much as we have?

I know not all of us feel that way...it's just disheartening to see others think that way...anyways good book if you like this type of genre.

All they needed to do was watch a pack of lions devoor a elephant to see their emotions. I watched a documentary once. This elephant was being eaten alive for several hours. It looked in agony and had tears pouring from it's eyes as they ate it's trunk off and the rest of the pack chewed the poor thing to pieces. While it was still alive.

There was another dumb study about a decade ago where scientists agree now that fish feel pain. Nah really, you're kidding right? When I see a fish hooked and it jumps out of the water and tries to hide and thrash about to get that hook out, I never once thought it was doing it for shits and giggles.

I totally agree with you Irmin, it blows my mind sometimes when people actually think animals don't feel like humans do...when all they got to do is observe the animals around them. But, if they do that then they would have to admit to being wrong and we know that is more important to knowing the truth.

So-called knowledge relying on religious texts to relate to ANY sentient beings, particularly "lower forms" is an exercise in futility. Anyone can (and should) read the ridiculous bullshit that comprises most "religions."My grand daughter is 12 -years old. By the time she reaches 30 or 40--the elephants, the gorillas, the tigers, etc-etc- will be a distant memory. It has been said that a society should be judged by how it treats the most vulnerable of its citizens. I say that includes the MILLIONS of little animals that are born without love, never are given love and are doomed to die a loveless and sometimes brutal existence. Never mind the humans that "endure" a like existence.

What has become the apex of human desire-(cleverly designed to seem as natural as apple pie) is of course=

look away--and BUY MORE -BUY MORE NOW.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. ----------what else is needed?
