I'm not trying to be antagonistic but I have to ask this question. I've noticed a lot of strange incidents especially since about September regarding conspiracy theories/theorists especially regarding fake news sites and fake news stories. Pizzagate comes to mind. I've watched videos explaining Pizzagate that were laughable that to me anyone with any common sense or critical thinking ability would believe. So much half truth, speculation and outright lie that can easily be disproven with a simple Google search. Then when Edgar Welch in my opinion took it too seriously it was dubbed a "False Flag Story" by people who still hold on. Or when Lucy Richards started making death threats against people who lost family members in the shooting. I'm not angry just curious, because it seems like a lot of time, thought and research goes into these theories and trying to prove these theories and when the variables don't add up more variables seem to be added that further complicate the theories and are more parts to fail. Is the same amount of research done to see if it could actually be plausible? C/S, Rev J
I think it's a load of crap. I think that there were a lot of conclusions being jumped to and the whole thing seems laughable. this is to me the best video explaining the whole thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OrX0U4qwTM This one is good too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpgzDizSt1k C/S, Rev J
Not sure google search is any good for proving/disproving a conspiracy. Google seems to disappear documents on a regular basis. If there is a US government conspiracy, Google is likely in on it.
You (and I ) wish! It seems most are not interested to the same extend in other theories. Definitely not the mainstream ones (that's for sheep). I sometimes also wonder why someone gets so certain about a theory that no matter how I look at it fits the term conspiracy theory. I rarely get a satisfying answer. They're certain but they can't explain to others how or why it is certain. But they will all the time tell you it is like that and we're pretty stupid for not wanting to see 'the truth' Very tiring.
Senator Grassly on cnn with Anderson Cooper 2011, pentagon child porn.. uploaded Jan 7, 2011.. but now its fake news. yeah ok. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJyTaHiS3OQ
The whole point of bullshit conspiracy theories is to discredit all the genuine ones, obviously. All conspiracy theories can be easily debunked with a meme.
Funny how that works. Also, I know this might be a silly question, but . . . nah, it's just too crazy so I won't . . . ah what the hell: Was Senator Grassly . . . pro marijuana?
Disinformation favors conservative politics with sociologists establishing over the last few decades that the more conflicting information people hear the more likely conservatives are to completely ignore anything that conflicts with their beliefs. Hence, we've seen a dramatic increase in disinformation with the rise of conservative talk radio, Fox News, and white supremacist internet websites and trolls. Notably, they've even inspired the rise of the New Atheists who are now collectively shooting themselves in the foot by adopting the same essential strategy as their Fundamentalist brethren. Divide and conquer is the rule of the day when all the wealth continues to accumulate at the top and nobody believes a word that anyone else has to say. Hence, the reason we now have a president who contradicts everything he himself says and can talk smack like a professional wrestler and, soon enough, the public will welcome with open arms the first dictator for life promising to save them from themselves.
I don't have time to watch two hours of pizzagate debunking. Suffice it to say, I'm alarmed at the fact that it takes two hours to debunk it. I'm not going to really get into the details of pizzagate, but in answer to your question: I will stop entertaining wild conspiracy theories as soon as our government is transparent, and as soon as our leaders aren't members of secret societies whose rituals are kept hidden from the general public. The so-called "victims" of conspiracy theories usually only have themselves to blame. You can't operate in secrecy, give no explanation as to why this secrecy is necessary, and then expect people not to come up with wild theories about what exactly it is you're up to. Especially when we learn about things our government and other institutions really have been up to around the world. Some of it is completely insane, and if we didn't know it was true it would all be deemed some crazy conspiracy theory. But yeah, can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to operate in secret, then you have to deal with suspicion and intrigue. I personally think it's morally wrong for our leaders to be members of secret societies, as they ought to know full well what kind of culture this breeds.
They couldn't care less. In their world there are only two kinds of people, winners and losers, and they get the short end of the stick everyone else is going down with them.
Most of the conspiracy theory videos even the shorter ones make my eyes glaze over. I watched a video explaining the whole thing from the pro conspiracy perspective and was just filled with eye rolls. How do you know that these world leaders are members of secret societies with secret rituals? If they were secret societies and you know about them it would seem to me that they are pretty shitty about keeping their secrets. Also it would seem to me that most seem too smart to fall for and participate in silly ancient superstitions. . It is fairly simple to use google to identify a person in an image. If there is a specific location where something is allegedly happening in a basement it is pretty simple to get a Google Earth Street View from all sides/angles to find the basement. If there is a handkerchief code which goes back to the Gay Culture it is fairly simple to Google it to find out. That is using Pizzagate as an example. Here are some other ridiculous Conspiracies that I've heard: HIV doesn't cause AIDS it is the side effect of HIV Meds. Cancer is a fungal Infection that can be killed by flushing out the system with baking soda. Vaccines cause Autism. UNICEF is and evil organization that is either attempting population control or RFID chipping children in third world countries. Flouride is being put into the drinking water as an attempt for mass mind control. (Insert Mass Shooting Name Here) was a government set up so that they can take our guns. Those were just a few of the better ones that I've heard. C/S, Rev J
the problem of course, is that people without critical thinking, who hate logic, vote. the real conspiracy, is the use of conspiracy theories, to manipulate them.
i'll agree with the first half of that. and most of the real ones don't come from government spook shops either. two or three have, but the huge bulk of the rest of them, come from corporate board rooms, and high school class rooms (the hecklers in the back of the room, not what's actually being taught) and trolls just getting a laugh at how gullible we all are, including of course themselves.
