Astrology is the belief that the movement of celestial bodies can be used to interpret human actions. Most people who believe in astrology believe that the stars correlate with human personality, including the thesis of this thread by Mr. Veggie4Peace. Correlating personality with the stars does imply that the stars have some control over who you are, no matter what kind of slippery argument you can try to supply to the contrary.

I've researched astrology about as much as I have bigfoot, because that's about as much of my time as I feel it warrants. If you want to believe in it, fine, but it's not true. It's not true and cannot stand up to any sort of scientific scrutiny.

interestingly enough Isaac Newton believed in Astrology. I'd just like to throw that out there.

and seeing how people believe that there once was a guy who parted the red sea, i dont think astrology is far fetched in our society.

but maybe i'm the only one who thinks learning about all sorts of beliefs with an open mind is the only way to find what you truly believe in.

Parting the Red Sea is just as ridiculous of a tribal belief. Especially since theirs no archaeological evidence or any historical evidence outside the bible of jewish slave migration from Egypt or in the desert where they wandered around in for 40 years.

Tribal beliefs are fun to learn about, but that doesn't mean you should have an open mind to it. I saw a show on the discovery channel about a Tribe in Northern India which practiced eating human hearts. They believed they gained the power of their enemies by eating their hearts. Intresting, but I'm not going to eat a humans heart before I head to the gym.

Eating hearts, the bible, and astrology are all tribal mysticism. They are intresting historical information, but should have no bearing on our lives today.
