So is limewire OK then? No spyware/trojans to worry about? I just got cable, and I'm looking to rape some bandwidth....hehe.

The free version of Limewire has spyware bundled with it. You can get a "free" version of the newest Limewire Pro on my forum if you are interested. The address is in my signature. Peace

Try removing it as I described in the Post up there. ^ ^ ^ ^

It's no biggie to remove the adware.
    There is no spyware!
    ...or so I'm told.

Failing that, there is nothing bundled w/BS Pro (not free) or BS Lite (free).

I think I'm going to give MLDonkey a try. I've heard pretty good things about it. Are you using a gui for it? If so which one? I'm trying out the Sancho gui. Also do you get pretty good download speeds?

Peer 2 Peer file sharing programs are usually shit, the only actual good one out there is the open-source DC++.

The rest are just mainly used for porn, trojans, and viruses, usually the network is filled with advertising shit immediately.

The irc protocol is really dead of free apps and music.

And bittorrent will never go dead, if you knew the structure of bit torrent you will know that there is no "source" at which the companies can sue. They can only sue hundreds of sites that point you to .torrents, which is perfectly legal.

And most of the search sites are outside of the U.S.

torrentspy.com filter there torrents to comply with the legal laws of U.S. currently the best site that does not go with the legal bullshit and filter good .torrents is isohunt.com

    So wrong
I can find just a bout anything on MIRC
if you have the right sources

Just wait until mostly all torrent search engines block out games and apps and bands

lol, i dont know what torrent sites you are going to but they are the wrong ones. And i have never actually found 1 good file on the irc network, i dont like waiting 2 days just to dl a 5mb mp3.

EDIT: Alright i admit irc is a alternative, but not as great as bittorrent or DC++.

    Good torrent sites:
    private
    filelist.org
    torrentbytes.net
    Public
    isohunt.com

They only remove a torrent if a copyright holder makes a complaint.

    FYI http://www.torrentspy.com/dmca.asp

The point is...their search engine still filters data and complies with the dmca, ioshunt.com does not.

Using irc is no problem, hell i can probably create irc client if i want with my programming skills. But im not going to spend 5min+ looking for a file on mirc when i can just easily get them on bittorrent/DC++.

And yes i dled the new star wars movie off bittorrent within the first week it cameout, the day i found that it was on bittorrent is the day the download completed.
