I have a wee bit of a sensitive job. I work in immigration. It's the kind of job where you have to consider a person's situation holistically, but you can't get too hung up if they don't meet the criteria. It's not for everyone, and some people end up being unable to make decisions that can affect others lives to such an extent. Most of the time I enjoy my job. What do you do? Are you good at it?
I manage a small team of warehouse and duty staff at a local hostel that caters for tourism so especially now come winter we see a lot of snowing people come and stay. We also organise a lot of other activities like mountain bike riding and canyoning, ski and snowboard lessons, our annual Oktoberfest bus trips into Munich among other activities too. I specialise in horse riding so I tend the stables in my free time. I don't really work in winter but as I'm managing now I sort of have to be there but just for small amounts of time so it's like a hobby for 4mths. Just tending the rosters etc. and making sure the horses are okay throughout winter. So it's kind of a cool and dreamy job at the end of the day. Even though we see new people all the time, it's not like you have to see new workers or anything. We are encouraging and encouraged to actually drink and party with our guests. There's literally some sort of drinking night every single night of the week that guests and New arrivals are treated to. Sometimes Jaeger night, sometimes sucking the vape from flamed alcohol nights. Basically you want to have fun and get fucked up, you come and see me and my team. We have many returning workers throughout the seasons. Some employees don't work 12 months a year we have several snowboard and ski instructors that only work snow months, so it's a good mixture throughout the year and also there's my smaller group team that stays on 12mths a year. We tend to keep our tight knit group of staff because of the environment. They're here to work, but more often than not, work is fun and party and adventurous. The only staff that need to really watch themselves are our personal drivers. After they see how much fun it is not to be a driver they don't want to drive anymore so at the moment I've employed 2 older non drinkers that don't fit into our team in any way, but they get the job done.
i get fucked for money. no, i'm not a whore. that would be more lucrative, and have more room for advancement.
I’m a graphic designer. Tasked with the duties of designing logos, ads, vehicle decals, lighting systems, and updating the company website and social media. I also have a side job as a stage hand, where I get to hang out with band members back stage which is a huge perk
It pays well. Some people want the status symbology with their work, something to show off or brag about to society. Feel accomplished, secure in their life and future. Me? I sit in a chair to clear the one runway fit for small propellered planes only that come in thrice a day. The earth is my office and the sky is my desk.
i'd have done something creative if i wasn't paranoid of responsibility in the context of deadlines and profits. as it is i've done grunt work most of my working life, past tense. (did have one sort of good job early one, for about a year, that was in the early 1970s, that anyone else would probably say i should have fought to keep, but i don't regret the adventures (poverty included) i've had since, and might never have had if i did) what i do now is make pictures for free and put them on the net in my vain delusion of inspiring people to think about how they make the kind of world they live in, and how they could with the same or less effort, make one they could enjoy more, and receive more gratification then comes from chasing little green pieces of paper and trying to impress each other with what they can buy instead of figure out how to make. which i know is almost kind of an exaggeration as other people make more and better then myself of trying to communicate and illustrate a concept. but i do bring a way of looking at things, that i'm not seeing as much as i'd like elsewhere and wish i did.
I was the world's cheapest attorney for 25 years. Retired doing that February 1st 2019. Now I'm a part time moderator for hf (which doesn't pay shit).....and I love it more than being the world's cheapest attorney.
there was an explosion in the marshmallows plant. I wanted to quit my job but I was stuck there for a while..
