Ohhh...it's really hard for me to pick one, and I am familiar with few words outside the English dictionary, but of those I'd say my favourites include:

Psychedelic (only recently found it's way into the English dictionary I believe)

another word that always got me was.. PIG.. i used to contemplate that word a lot when i was wee... always seemed like such a pecular word for an animal

 

My favourite word is SPENDTHRIFT.Don't know why.It's probably all those consonants huddled together so conspiratorially in the middle.

So.

It's short, yet it does so much. You can use it for a million different occasions, it sounds pretty, it's ace. Especially when used completely unnecessarily by Scottish people at the end of sentences. It makes me smile
