another word that always got me was.. PIG.. i used to contemplate that word a lot when i was wee... always seemed like such a pecular word for an animal
My favourite word is SPENDTHRIFT.Don't know why.It's probably all those consonants huddled together so conspiratorially in the middle. STAPLE is a good word.And LOOSE.

So. It's short, yet it does so much. You can use it for a million different occasions, it sounds pretty, it's ace. Especially when used completely unnecessarily by Scottish people at the end of sentences. It makes me smile
