When we were kids we would break a hole in the ice to see how thick first. What we didn't know was the required minimum so we usually over-estimated Loads on Ice Required Minimum Ice. sit inside and watch it out the window. also watch the rotary snow plows on the railroad. when i get tired of that, go back to what i would have been doing anyway. if there's lightning and i don't have a ups, or if the power's off, light the candles and kerosene lamps and dig out the sketch book, or read books and magazenes.
That's good info to have! I miss having a fireplace . My last house had two fireplaces and a wood burning stove. You don't like snow??? .... we can't be friends anymore....
lol OK its not THAT bad, but i'm not good at dealing with it for 5 months straight... especially when you think its finally going away, then you wake up and theres another foot down, and you have to drive across town stuck behind a plow the whole way and and.... :cuss:
It doesn't snow very often here. I don't do much on snow days that I don't do every other day of the year, but the dog is usually inside when it's very snowy outside, but taking him outside is so funny because he hops through the snow and so there are big holes all throughout the yard with 4 little foot prints at the bottom.
The thing I like to most in a snowstorm is.......nothing. At all. I only say that given that here in Australia we get heatwaves and not snowstorms.
Mhm. :rollseye: You mean you actually let your dog inside sometimes? You know what's odd? I grew up in the Rocky Mountains, and I've never been skiing. That's unfortunate. :/
The build up and panic buying towards the eventual storm :2thumbsup: Rarely does the storm live up to its potential but occasionally mother nature exceeds our expectations....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weLmkcOMddE"]New York, Boston bracing for major blizzard - YouTube Hotwater
