    I totally disagree with you.

When you consider the circumstances in which the album was recorded (Robert trying to recover from a smashed ankle, wondering whether he'd ever perform again etc), I think it's a very inspired album.

It's very Page-driven, with the 'guitar army' coming to the fore and has a dark underbelly due to the frame of mind of the band at that time i'd imagine...

I've always thought it a shame that they only ever played 2 songs from it in their live set thereafter (Achilles & NFBM)...

Yes i know that the bass player became the boss ...Page was so ill... the result mark the end of the 70's clearly ...
Jones will never be a good leader songwriter ...but for 1 or 2 songs in every album ...He can do that very well...

I don't tell that the album is bad ...i repeat you for me it's a good album... ! This is one of their less satisfying album (it's different), and strange (4 u) but true most of the fan think as me(look at the vote...here and everywhere). But everyone has different opinion.... i know this.
My opinion is that Led Zepellin in 76 are no more the best band to tour... Are they the best band in 75 ? (there's 20 and more great records in 75)
Their only bad record is "In Through The Out Door "...i even sold it ... a giant can't end their carreer like that.
I like bands that split before their skin turns to grey.

Has to be Remasters. I know it's a compilation but there are no filler tracks.
    As good as it gets

Led IV is the greatest zeppelin album of all time. I grew up listening to that album, and sure its cliche but hell its great...Black Dog, Stairway, When The Levee Breaks...every song on this album is epic

That album kicks some major posterior! [IMG]

Bonham is simply 'the man' on tracks like Custard Pie, In My Time Of Dying and Kashmir.

    25 years gone...

That's so hard! All of their albums (that I own) have at least several mindblowing tracks on them.

In Through The Out Door is an excellent album IMO... LZIV is probably the best though, but I don't listen to it.

Yep, I'll also go with the cliché. Led Zeppelin IV did something to me that their other albums couldn't; it touched me like only a good Rock album can touch me.

So a vote for IV from a person who doesn't even like Led Zep overall.

And... best live band ever is right there in my sig. :D

Awesome pics lovelightlisa! That 1 of RP kissing Peter Grant is classic (hehehe). I find when I'm in the mood for Zepplin, I usually pick PG, but I love Caruselambra & I'm gonna Crawl off ITTOD. When the Levee Breaks is great 2, but I have 2 say PG is my fave:)
