I agree that she's been a bit out of line too, and I guess that does make you post more understandable.
I also agree that if you can't afford it, you shouldn't have it.
I still don't think it's safe to assume that many single mothers are on Welfare. Hell, my mum's been a single mother for 11 years now, and I can only remember her ever taking sick days when me or my sister were little and needed a doctor visit.

My only 2p isn't relevant to the op but is relevant to some of the other recent posts here. Sometimes, women accidentally get pregnant and it's true that they didn't want the baby to begin with. It's happened to me, and I've used birth control and it still just happened. With me, mother nature took its course. But just because I didn't want it in the first place doesn't mean I should have had an abortion. I was young, but working and I would've been a great mother.

I should also just say here that wellfare is an entitlement. Sure, some people rinse it and it's wrong. But it's also there for a good reason. Here we have the NHS too, and we all contribute to that. A heart transplant can be as much as a quarter of a million pounds, but we don't complain that a person should be deprived of that because the tax payer has to fit the bill.

I still maintain you should have yours ripped out immediately. If you're bitching about paying taxes, I'd hate to hear the bitching you do having to take care of another living being. And, it wasn't because you felt different about abortion, it was the WAY you said it.

If I DID want/need assistance, I would get it. I've paid taxes since the age of 16, and though I haven't paid in a lot until recently because I was a student and still in school, I wouldn't have a problem marching my butt down to the FS office and applying for assistance. But, I don't need it.

I also don't have a problem helping others out in need, if they NEED it, take it. I'd rather pay for 10 lazy fuckers that don't need it and help out 1 family that does instead of BITCHING uselessly about paying taxes for welfare.

My mother got pregnant with me at 15 years old. she had me at 16. Her family helped in early years. She was never on welfare, educated herself, became a nurse, and raised my sister and I very well. I thank god abortion was not an option and that she instilled in me things like self respect, character, and very hard work. It is because of her that I have the success that I do, today. I actually dig the confidence, myself. It's the use of it to belittle someone else that I'd dislike if she wasn't under attack but she is, so i say it's fine.

 

well, I didn't say she didn't attack anybody here and could give two squirts of piss if she did. I stated i like confidence unless used as a means of belittling in which she did here. i excused it some due to it's use in a context of being under attack, which she was when making the reply that she did. I actually think fuck trophy is funny. sounds very MJB to me. Dont let that get you down too hard. I know it was used to ridicule and that sucks but it is funny, afterall this is an internet forum that is known for not being gentle at all. I would never air out a serious issue of mine here.

I just hate when 'adults' insult children as a low blow. It shows ignorance and an inability to make a good argument. So, I guess when it's looked at that way, it would be like another child making fun of my daughter and....it's bound to happen.

But, I can still be sour about it. I know it's the internet. If it was said in real life, they'd have a broken nose for sure, but it's the internet. I get it.
