Those pizza commercials. They always show someone slowly pulling the piece away and the cheese stretches a foot like super elastic bubble plastic. That's supposed to be appetizing? Real cheese never looks like that. I read on a news website that some pizza places are adding a silicone-like chemical to make the cheese look even more like rubber. .
yeah, there have been specials on 20/20 and shows such as that about how the commercials are all staged and use so many techniques to make the food look good! Who cares, I still love fast food.
It's called food art. You can really go to school and get a degree for it. My friend and I practiced our food art at work for the longest time when we first started there. Now it's second nature, my ice cream is fucking pretty.
When I worked at Ruby Tuesdays everything was fake as hell. It was already arranged in pretty little formats so that all we had to do really was heat it up and it was ready to go. But my god, order the chicken and broccoli pasta old way... nummy!
Here's an article about the silicone thing. I haven't checked it for accuracy. http://xmb.stuffucanuse.com/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=4855 .
