i am an aussie and I love going barefoot
where I live it is pretty much excepted, barefoot or the good ol' thongs are standard, esp. in summer, but I live near the beach.

it probably isn't acceptable in rsl's, restaurants and the like though you could probably get away with it...

BTW, my feet being dirty on the bottom STILL has nothing to do with anyone's hygiene or food safety, and like Dan said, they are still cleaner with a little bit of soil on them from an hour's walk through a park while I played disc golf than most people's shoes are. My feet were washed that morning, and again that night, jerkoff. If the dirt that gets on them from the park is so horrendous, I guess we mustn't let little kids play on the grass, 'cause they'll catch the same "diseases" that you're afraid I'll spread through the dirt that gets on my feet.
