First think I noticed lately is someone trying to fill forums with threads offering very cheap pot then research chemicals and shit. Now someone is spamming a pay per call number that probably charges you $10 on connect or something. Do these people think we're a bunch a idiots?!
A Lot Of Spam Comes From Fully Automated Sources, They Just Select A Random Website Then Hit The Go Button With No Human Intervention... Cheers Glen.
Lots of them and now also invaded facebook. Good thing is I'm not a heavy Fb user. I prefer to visit forums like Hip and discuss things I love most. Cheers!
judging from the amount of spam on the internet, there must be a bunch of idiots online who actually do follow the spam links; otherwise spamming wouldn't be worth the effort. based on personal experience, it tends to be older people who can't comprehend that spam is spam and should be avoided. this is a site loosely based on a movement that pretty much died 40 years ago. so it actually seems reasonable for the spammers to assume that this site will be populated by older folks who will actually fall for their spammage.
Its very lucrative. In fact the gov recently fined a company over $50 million for spamming. They paid the fine and are still in business.
I suppose the sheer number of people that can be reached on the internet make it attractive for this. You wouldn't be able to get that shit put in a major newspaper, they would never allow it and it would hurt the papers reputation.
