While not the oldest movie that I watched but two of my favourite old films are The Big Clock (1948) and The Third Man (1949). The cuckoo clock quote from the latter being one of my favourite quotes from a film.
The oldest I have seen now is BLACKMAIL from 1929 on VHS Also the oldest 1 I have seen with vocals in it!!
Oh, I don't know. Must be one of Edison's or Melies shorts from the 1890s. I couldn't begin to tell you which one from which year though. If those don't count as movies since they lack a narrative, then the oldest might be A Trip to the Moon from 1902. But I have an unfair advantage in this thread. I went to film school

Are you familiar with a nickelodeon? People would put a coin in a slot and look through a little view port and see these 10 second videos of people kissing or a train passing by. Basically, the TikTok of its day: short form videos viewed privately instead of in a group in a movie theater
