Are consumers really the assholes that Amazon thinks they are, forcing their workers to walk fourteen miles a day with no breaks? Punishment if they use the bathroom too long? I don't care if it takes another day for my orders to arrive. I don't get consumers. Seem like an awful uppity bunch, the way Amazon treats them.
last thing was a 3-axis stepper controller board, about 3 years ago, before that, was a book about restoring trains to yousemiti valley to replace car traffic wrtten in 1977 as a proposal for 1988. that was maybe ten 15 years ago. basically i don't do a lot of buying anything on line. only time and reason is for something that isn't available locally. i've bought stuff directly from manufacturers rather then amazon or the like, that there isn't any local retail at all. mostly niche specialty mfrs in some of my hobbies. i prefer to buy stuff in stores or at conventions, as much as possible. there's a number of reasons for this. i don't bank on line either, nor use credit. i figure i'm old enough to get away with being a fuddy duddy about some of these things. i love technology, but i'm not big on the whole business perspective thing
It's because we have a joint bank account and thanks to iPhone applications whenever money is spent it shows up as an alert on our phones so we really cannot help it. just have to say hey don't look at the next alert please. But she didn't say that.

Funny thing about buying online...anyone can do it. There is no big bad wolf taking away mom and pop stores when it comes to online purchases
most of the artists i know take commissions directly using pay pal or one of the others others of them use sites like etsy to sell through. and likewise in my major hobby, there are many very small, often home shop manufacturers, who only sell directly on line and seek no other form of distribution. i still like to go into a mom and pop brick and mortar retailer, where i can actually see things and take my time deliberating over them. and wish there were more people still doing so to keep specialty niche small scale brick and mortar retailing alive. the kind of niche specialties that don't have the cash flow to rent mall spaces, but often have a huge overhead to maintain a diversity of stock.
We don't have Amazon in our country but there is Lazada ............ I bought a mini Segway and a LG Washing Machine. (Do people still buy books and videos? ....... I thought they were all free now)
A long board for my boy. Not a big fan of Amazon. I like to have hands on stuff before I buy. That being said if price is a huge difference, then online it is
Just saw an Amazon add on TV.This Muslim guy orders a pair of kneepads so he can pray more comfortably in the mosque. Then the add cuts to a priest doing the same in Church. It's weird when adds turn into social commentary.Devious.
Well a lot of people probably honestly dont give a shit how they're treated. Theyre the same people who will run a server ragged and then not leave a tip, or will berate a retail worker in front of a store full of people
I've been choosing no rush delivery and earning $5 prime pantry credit. I ordered Thursday night, chose no rush, got it Saturday morning anyway, plus my $5 credit. I've chosen that 3 times now so I have a $15 prime pantry credit. Lots of companies that distribute have xmas as their busiest season. Toys R Us is slammed this time of year. My son is salary there and having to work tons of o.t. for no extra pay. When the season is slow they suffer.
You can get groceries on amazon? Oh that reminds me, have you guys heard about the amazongo grocery stores? You scan your information from an app on your phone when you walk in, then smart technology can tell what you're getting as you go along. So when you're done you just walk out without having to wait in line and pay. It charges your card automatically through the app. Not sure of any exist yet or if they're still in the planning stages. Sounds like my kind of store. I know i should be against replacing human jobs and alll, but anything that limits my interaction with awkward teenage cashiers is honestly a win for me.
Yep; none perishables mostly, I think. Hubby looked at Prime Pantry more than I did. Yes, I've seen that Amazon grocery store on a video! I think one is opening in Washington in early 2017.
Hello, I do not give a siht about how Amazon treats their employees, but I'm also fairly nice to servers and have never been anything but polite to retail workers. Might have something to do with the whole "you never actually see Amazon's employees in person thing."
To add to the above point, the whole concept of "ethical shopping" is next to retarded and nobody actually abides by it. Anyone who is posting on this forum is guilty of supporting a technology company that inevitably treats some Eastern Asian workers like shit. To answer the original thread question. I bought luggage. Before that I bought toilet paper. There are few things I don't buy on Amazon. Long live Amazon, and may you forever treat your employees like shit as long as it keeps your prices low.
