I love the self-help, self-improvement, psychology-type books. Here's some I've read lately that were really good: If Only, How to Turn Regret Into Opportunity, by Neal Rose The Magic of Think Big, by David Schwartz Positivity, by Barbara Fredrickson Everything Happens for a Reason, by Mira Kirshenbaum You Can Be Happy No Matter What, by Richard Carlson Shut Up Stop Wining and Get A Life, by Larry Winget
deepak chopra. i think its called something like the 14 secrets to life or something along those lines. really great book it did alot of good for me (even though i cant remember the title) hes a fantastic author.
You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay An extremely accurate and true book, which talks about the spiritual causes of MANY body ailments (from nose blood, astigmatism to AIDS and cancer). She gives spiritual remedies. It has worked for me 100%, I recommend it to everyone that has health problems and feel stuck.
I have a library of self help books, but I read a monthly publication that goes somewhat along the lines of self help. The Sedona Journal of Emergence. Other than that I really can't say, Ive got a huge library but when I go to the bookstore I am constantly reminded how I know how to improve my life. The best self help source is life, once your past the basics
The power of now - eckhart tolle Ask and it is Given - Esther and Jerry Hicks Awakening to the sacred - Lama surya das I'm also writing a book about inspiration and taking control of your life, hoepfully it turns out good.
A new life, or the power of now by eckhart tolle. New concept for me and changed my life. I wont to read more books but at the same time everything in these makes so much sense
A Guide to Rational Living- Albert Ellis Ph.D. It is the only self help book that I could finish without hating the author. The advice in it is rational, applicable, and very deep.
Healing the Child Within: Discovery and Recovery for Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families by Charles L. Whitfield, M.D and Be Here Now by Baba Ram Dass
I found The Now Habit and People Skills very useful. They deal with procrastination and communication blocks, respectively. The ideas in them are very simple, so I was basically done in half an hour. But they stuck through the years.
I read it 40 years ago and it had a profound impact on how I view life. I expect it would read as pretty old-fashioned now but it remains a classic. The Magic of Believing by Claude M. Bristol.
Here's some more I've read recently: "No Excuses" by Brian Tracy. Subtitled, "21 ways to Achieve Lasting Happiness and Success, The power of Self-Discipline". Now if I can just have the self-discipline to follow the instructions in this book. "Get Off Your 'But'" by Sean Stephenson. Subtitled, "How to End Self-Sabotage and Stand Up for Yourself". The author's story is inspiring. He's only 3 feet tall and confined to a wheelchair. "The Way of the Superior Man, A Spiritual Guided to Mastering the Challenges of Women, Work, and Sexual Desire" by David Deida
To be honest I seem to have spent half of my life buried in a self help book, until recently when I found my answer. It was a spiritual book about Cosmic Ordering. Since I read that book, my life has got so much better I feel so much happier than I used to
