wouldn't wanna get whipped in the face with one of those. they'd sit a lot better if you didn't use wax. they kind of stick out like the beginning of an erection.

my dreads are that rigid at least....
i think the look fine. if you can feel sticky wax in them, thats not very good and you should try to get it out.
if theres just a wee bit on the outside you are fine and have not done permanent damage to your locks.
i have had experience with too much wax, a reasonable amount of wax, and (with my current set of locks) no wax at all.
trust me, youre probably fine. people here just like their flaming so you gotta learn to roll with it and form your own opinion based off the well meaning advice.

but srsly, that dhhq guy is the biggest tool on the interwebs. please do not listen to the (admittedly hilarious) retarded bullshit he says anywhere.

i have never found my dreads to be a complication for getting a job or having one and i have worked rather in conservative industry, not a lot though. it's about the person who has dreads and can feel themselves "natural" or something (it's not the absolute right word for what i mean, but something towards that anyways). i guess i'm thinking that a person works dreads out not the other way round

i'm sorry if this seems to be random, i'm just feeln funny today :)

as far as dreadlock / wax / employment, I would imagine an employer is either going to employ you or not, now obviously in certain jobs image is important, to present the right image etc, now (IMO) an employer is going to employ someone with dreadlocks, or they're not, whether that person used waxed or not doesnt seem like it would come into the equation - also if thats actually an issue surely dreadlocks that look nice and healthy, regardless of some loose hairs would be more attractive to an employer then waxy looking dreadlocks =/

Right ok like I said I'm not here just to try piss you all off I'm trying to get some info. I decided that I'm gonna try without wax. That way I will have a fair view on both ways. So far they look much messier but I'm gonna try ignore that. They def don't look as good as when they're waxed but it's still early days.
