I remember when I was a kid I could spell and I won the spelling bee and now I have to google every other word to make sure it is correct. What has happened to me

I give myself word lists to learn. I don't know why they stop that... They may as well do it all through school, it's not like we've learned anywhere near all the words, just the basics.

I think sometimes when you're good at something as a kid you let yourself coast and suddenly discover you're now average. That happened to me with spelling/reading too.

When we moved from aus I ebayed a ton of things I wish I never did, my entire goosebumps originals was one of them. $15. :( I also sold off a lot of Nintendo and super Nintendo stuff dirt cheap without realising how much it could be.

My original Secret of Evermore SnES game, with original box, manual and world map could easily fetch over 300US. I sold it for 20. I just didn't realise. I now own the game again lol, but not my original.

Lol yeah, a lot of times I am at the swap market I see things I had as a kid and I want them back. A lot of matchbox cars are nostalgic mind blowing sometimes because we had a whole bucket of them.

I took a devastating L in the finals of our 4th grade spelling Bee. Aside from perhaps reading Wittgenstein, I don't think I've ever been as fascinated with language since.

The closest we got to a spelling bee was being made to stand at the end of the school day and only being allowed to go home once we got the random word in a dictionary correct. Must have been about 10.

Ohhh we had a dictionary test once and you know what word I got? Xeno. And I pissed myself laughing because I knew the teacher thought I'd never know ever, but I already knew that a Xenomorph was used to reference an alien in my fav movie Aliens. So I answered "foreign, alien" and I nailed it.

There was also one time in maths we had to add together a stupid equation and guess the outcome and I nailed this like 8 number sequence on the dot. It was a complete fluke because I wasn't even paying attention.

Yeah, I don't math. I don't trigonometry. The best thing I ever did in maths class was I got a protractor and I put in my knuckles like a claw and I called myself a velocoprotractor. I got kicked out of class once for that little stunt.

I also got caught cheating from the back of the book when the teacher asked me the answer to a question and stupidly replied "umm.. Discuss with... Classroom...??" it didn't even occur to me when I was writing it down. Lol. Busted red handed. :D

Fuck that loser anyway. MR Kennedy. We called him Mr Schmennedy, and when he got pissed off with that, we all called him Schmeno. :tearsofjoy: that was the poor bastards name for years. He hated it. He was an asshole angry teacher though, so he deserved it.. and I hope it keeps him up at night too.

"they call me Schmeno, honey :coldsweat:" in bed with his wife.

I'd say a fair chunk of my maths knowledge comes down to simple sports statistics. I also remember one time in maths class the teacher asked me what the percentage was for 1/3 and my friend beside me laughed like I wouldn't know.

But I did know, not because I paid attention and actually learned something in class, but 1/3 pass completions for a quarterback is 33%. See I knew that shit. LOL.

    got my inspection passed

first garage said it was unrepairable and needed to be scrapped due to rotted front subframe...uhm excuse me but that frame is bolted on and fairly easy to change

    so i fixed it

second garage passed it with zero defects found...and it was a legit pass i have never been there before and dont anyone from there

got my undercoating done today too...stunk up the inspection garage real bad because the undercoat appointment came 30 minutes before inspection appointment

I got a letter in the mail today that i'm part of a class action law suit against my old employer because they ran a background check on me within a certain time frame and to expect a settlement check in the mail. The settlement is 1.3 million, I wonder how many people are included in the lawsuit. And I also wonder what the hell they were doing with our background checks to warrant a lawsuit
