What's Happening???

There's lots of dinosaur bone and fossils. That in itself, is more interesting than most places.

I need to get my circular saw going and cut some pallets up.

 

Yesterday I went to both Lowe's and Home Despot looking for a screen door for my mudroom. Nothing even close to the right size and starting at around $79... They could custom order one for $279.

Today I stopped at the ReStore and found an Andersen screen door, brand new in box, that is the perfect size... $25.

 

I just found out that we have a ReStore nearby.

 

It's hard work but it's good work. 11 hour work day today. The tired you feel when done ain't a pissed off tired or a God I wish I didn't have to do this shit tired it's a I got shit done & people will eat well because of what I done did today tired. I feel at peace here. Don't get me wrong I'm still working shit out but it's a great place to do it. I was told by a fellow farmhand here that I've had the bad life experience of a 60 year ol' & I'm only pushin' 30. Takes time to iron that shit out.

What had happened was...we were told we were going to be laid off like a year ago and I planned to ride it out and take my severence and unemployment and savings and take like 6 months off, spend it with my child before he starts kindergarten. But the lay off date kept getting pushed back and now we've been in the dark about it for a while. Morale is super low because everyone is just waiting for the other shoe to drop, which is one reason I'm just so over it all. And now my son starts kindergarten in August so there's no point in taking time off work anyways..so yep, time to find a job and I definitely agree on making it one I enjoy

I actually debated trying to start up a dog walking business while I'm in school lol. I really hate being cooped up in an office. And I love walking and I love dogs. But I think that sort of thing only works out successfully in romantic comedies.

I did temp agencies while I was in school, maybe start there. Some jobs are temp to hire also. Another good thing is if you don't like your job assignment you can request another one, as long as you've been a good employee for the agency. Tell them what you're studying and ask them to be on the lookout for a good fit.
