Just finished laying the flooring of my family's old cabin out at the lake. And right now, I am just sitting alone out in said cabin listening to the crickets chirp. It's very peaceful.

This cabin, looks like a rickety old 1910's homestead on the outside. But on the inside, there's knotty pine on the walls and ceiling, and I am enjoying this new laminate floor. The cabin is about 500sqft or less.

My family has owned this cabin since before my time. My grandparents bought this land in the 60s and had lots of camp-outs in the cabin at that time; they lived in the town nearby, so it was easy access. But by the 70s, their kids went away to college, and they had little incentive to maintain it. By the time I was born, the whole place was in shambles; it was a rat infested piece of crap. The interior looked like a 1930s house trapped in time, but with rat droppings, spiderwebs, bird nests, and the smell of mold. The vintage furniture and appliances were still there, but nature had taken its toll on them beyond future use. My grandpa would still come out to mow the lawn out on the property, but the cabin was too much work for him to do.

For me as a kid, I loved going to the lake and having outings with friends and family on the land, whenever we drove 70 miles to visit my grandparents. But for me, the cabin was scary as fuck. We would challenge ourselves to see how far we could go into the cabin before it got too scary. When the wind blew, the fireplace and chimney would make sounds, similar to the effect of blowing over a bottle, but much deeper and spookier in sound. But sometimes we were total dickheads to each other, and would close the front door, lock another kid inside and laugh. Walking into a spiderweb inside a creepy rat infested cabin, can steal your innocence right away.

All my childhood life, I wanted my parents and grandparents to fix it up and make it nice. They just laughed and said it was not possible. Besides, grandma and grandpa have a nice house so we can visit them when we come over to the lake.

It wasn't until I was in college until my father, who inherited the cabin many years before, finally decided to put a livable structure on the land. He found that county regulations would've made it more difficult to demolish the cabin and build a new structure, then it would be to remodel the existing. So my sister and I were tasked with gutting out the place; it was the dirtiest job I ever taken in my life. Today, the cabin has new interior, flooring, and electricity. We still need running water out here, and a new front door.

So it is so amazing to me that I can chill and sleep in this now beautiful cabin as an adult. I wish my grandparents were still around to see what we have done to the place.

This place means so much to me, and I wanted to share this with you all.

For the past 6 weeks at boxing class, all I've been getting is the eye-of-the-tiger stares and no talking to me accept for amongst themselves.

Last night was a surprise. Both men and women classmates are finally starting to warm up and be more friendly.

Jenna and Jessica started a friendly conversation with me as well as John, Romeo and Ash.

The ladies talked about diets and dogs

John talked about getting to old for this shit and being a full time focus pad holder and human punching bag

Romeo talked about his training for the 2020 Olympics tryouts in Japan. Would be awesome to know personally someone competing.

Ash talked about how out of shape he is.

Best day of class to date.

    How do you like boxing?
    I loved it.
I got into it after I was assaulted.
It's a good hobby and good for the mind too.

Unfortunately, I stopped taking classes before London and didn't get back into it when I returned.

I like boxing so much now, it's an addiction and don't wanna stop . Its taught me exceptional self defense techniques as well as having a stronger heart, healthy serotonin levels for great sleep and positive thinking.

I've got combos 1, 2 and 3 down pat....4 and 5 still throw me off, footwork and balance is getting more smooth, It's all meshing quite nicely.

I'm very sorry to hear that you were assaulted.

The tempo and sound of that song are perfect for the slow, staggering, stroll I do down the hall after that muscle relaxer kicks in, lol.

    It's perfect.

I looked at the KFC Australia site and don't see the distinction.

On the USA menu, you have a choice of Breast and Wing, Or Thigh and Drumstick, in a 2pc. box.
