i was never in officer country, though i had the chance, and pissed it off deliberately, much to the frustration, and to them i do apologize, who had made the effort to set it up.
instead i did my time in the ecm shop. that's fixing rader jamming equipment, and a few odd other related and probably classified things. or that were at the time, 50 years ago.

 

They actually had to teach that? Thought it would go without saying...

 

When I did rowing they told us to pee on our hands to reduce and heal blisters.

 

Did it work?

 

Absolutely it did.

 

Did you follow up by shaking anyone's hands?

 

No I always did it in the shower.

 

But seriously man, rowing blisters were awful. Every callous on your hand right now, imagine them all red sore and blistered, cracked, sore. Couldnt even ride my bike to school

I know the feeling

The same thing happened to my when my chainsaw died, and I had to use a bow saw to finish off what was essentially half a 25 foot tree.

 

Okay now do it again the next day and the next day and the next day.

I mean once your hands toughen up it's fine. But those first few days after a break holy shit and I tried like blister spray etc no deal there.
