Bummer 6-eyed sad news.

I believe it's what Stephen Hawking had, here is part of the retirment ceremony speech from Lou Gerhig, the baseball player who the colloquial name of the disease is named after. Perhaps the most moving speech ever in American Sports.

 

Very sorry to hear this bad news come to you and your family.

It is.. But at the same time it isn't nothing, is it?
When people tell me the stock responses, I know they are feeling more and don't know what to say.
And it feels awkward to give the stock response because you know it's inadequate.
So when you know someone feels more and is going through a moment of awkwardness on your behalf, when they could just ignore the situation..
It's not nothing. It's an attempt at togetherness which I don't think entirely fails.

That's sort of my point, not knowing what to say. As if language doesn't have the proper tools for the situation, when I'm sure it does.


I'm not implying people shouldn't say anything.

 

I was just pointing out that because most of us feel it, we know that's what they're feeling which makes the inadequate a little more adequate.

 

You have the strength within you to deal with this.

 

We just learned that my daughter will deliver Baby Grayson by C-section on Monday morning.

 

Stock responses may seem cut and dry on an Internet forum. But they definitely mean a lot more to me than it may seem. So thank you all kindly. It is greatly appreciated

They say the best way to slow down the muscle deterioration is to stay active as much as possible. Fortunately for him this was discovered early on. There are medical and physical treatments, but no cure. This is a lot to take in but we shall see how this goes.

Oh 6, I am so sorry to hear that. There are no words, and stock responses do feel inadequate. I wish there was something I could say to alleviate the stress, pain, confusion, and shock you must be going through, but there just isn't. All I can say is, you've got friends here. We got you, homie.

I got out to watch the triplets play in their middle school softball tournament last night.

The weather was good and the girls were amazing!

 

Yesterday, I got a Tdap Vaccine (Whooping Cough) and was surprised with the side effect of stomach upset....Ugh...It's worth it to keep Grayson safe, though.
