What's Happening???

There are tons of Spanish speakers around where I live, but they don't really talk to you in Spanish. They use English mostly. I could probably get the ladies at the hair place I go to to say something in a way that wouldn't leave me wondering what happened though.

It's sort of hard to explain, it uses a variety of techniques like pictures, repetition, etc to drill it into your head.

You should download the duolingo app and try it out, its free. I think babel requires a subscription if I'm not mistaken

I tried it. I think it's cool, but I didn't commit to anything on their site. I'm sort of waiting until Spanish class starts. I want to see what they have.

One thing that I liked about was that it seems to associate Spanish with Spain, which is where I'm going. I barely remember this, but when I was in high school there was mention of a difference in dialect, and I don't want to be speaking the wrong one. Maybe it's different in different parts of Spain too. I should google it...
