Our flag would be stuck at half mast if Florida Man counted.

any place that has a large population, a small percentage is a real number.
current u.s. culture does seem to encourage anger issues though.

Went with dad to see grandpa's gave. Necked a tinnie for him, then poured grandpa's favorite beer over his plaque. That's how we do it in our family. :) rub the plaque clean. Dad gave me a big hug says to me "are you trying to look like your old man in these" (flannel) I said well I got the wife now, the kids, the home.. Who am I trying to impress anyway? He Lol'd. :)

I think we'll stay with the folks tonight, my old King single bed haha that'll be fun. :tongueclosed:

Motives and details matter. So no, not that excessive at first instance. If one would go there for a leisure vacation its worth considering a place closer to home. Another factor to take in account is that there are less alternatives, whereas the eco minded Brit or dutchie can travel in better alternative ways to Spain (such shorter flights are also more polluting per person than longer in comparison btw)
If we all mind unneccesary use of flying a person who needs to fly regularly for work or 10 times out of unfortunate neccesity are bearable. Flying ten times a year to Spain and back just for leisure, vacation and convenience seems inexcusable for a conscious and caring person imo.

The mentality of 'if I don't do it someone else will' or 'im not giving up this perk of todays life because others aren't neither so I would feel stupid about my individual change' etc. is killing us. But as with a lot of things moderation is key. With flying and meat consumption it will be collective moderation. But if we don't start no one will follow.
Some people act like because its only a minority that acts upon that realisation it is not worth bothering about and even advocate to just go on lol. I don't think they really care about the future. Look at the early vegetarians in our modern societies; they were mocked and ridiculed and not catered to at first in restaurants and industry. Now they are. The change for a sustainable future lies for a significant part with the behavior of the individual consumer. No, one individual can't make that societal change. But many together will/are.

    Okay : )
Trouble with anywhere closer to home is it would still be winter.

South Spanish winters are pretty bearable i thought. And it's possible to get there for the biggest part by train! :) Just one example. Might cross over and visit Morocco.. Sahara is not too shabby in winter either i think :D Ok maybe not too safe atm ;) But yeah, lots of things to consider. And do we really need to travel to the sun EVERY winter? ;) Compensating for your flight is also a possibility. I was just saying initially about that point that some people feel good about recycling or buying that eco friendly car and then are (or act) oblivious to the impact of their overall meat consumption or flying behavior.

I doubt she's solely a vegetarian for the reason of covering the pollution of her annual flight ;) But regardless (and i know you're kidding) its awesome how vegetarism has become a mainstream and catered for option.
I'm pretty sure I will never become a vegetarian, and thus have to compensate differently for my wasteful endevaors. Very doable!
Less meat and higher quality beats cheap and daily indulging in meat. If we're not living as complete shitheads we can actually have our cake and eat it too! :grinning: Except of course if too many people apply that saying to overindulging in overly polluting actions too frequently ;)

We all can compensate and be responsible in our own way. We're with too many now unfortunately to still carelessly embrace being a rebel without any responsibility.. Unless of course one really wouldn't give a shit about nature, animals, and value living as you feel above the future conditions of those. Not a very likeable kind of rebel imo. I can understand easier one wouldn't give a shit about and rebel against fellow humans and their lecturing ways :-D

The most nostalgic thing about my King single is that it still has the same sheets and blanket cover that I was using like 12 years ago.
