'glamping' and 'tiny houses' are what ordinary people used to LIVE in, when i was little growing up. they weren't second houses or vacation cabins. they were HOME.
back when there was such a thing as a real middle class, and more then 80 percent of the population were part of it. not condo towers, not ticky tacky suburbs, but houses of maybe a couple thousand square feet and most, and within a few miles, few enough to walk it a couple of times a week, although by the time i was born more then half of people did have cars, though even having cars, the roads weren't really fun for long trips, so they rode trains and buses too. well there weren't malls. enclosing the sidewalks wasn't a bad idea, but acres of parking lots not a good one. there were two or three blocks of brick and mortar mom and pop retailing. groceries, hardware, pharmacy, a bank branch or two, the post office and the gas company. one or two clothing stores, and a little restaurant cafe or two. oh and there was a big yellow school bus to take us to school, and the ride was often through beautiful countryside of what are now called mini-ranches i guess. people who had a little more but still weren't really rich, would own an acre or two, maybe 20. and there was a family general practitioner doctor, who made house calls. the whole town would be maybe a thousand or so, counting dogs and chickens and stray cats. one way people didn't have to be rich to not have to live in a city, was the railroad, the power company, the highway department, all had jobs that involved communications and operations, all over, in or near, all these little places, that were around maybe 15 to 30 miles from each other. everyone i know in school, there dad either worked for one of these, or well there were also a few people who lived there who had real money, some who were retired from various things, ceo's of things you'd never expect, even entertainment industry people, no longer active in the public eye. just all kind of people and no one making a big deal about each other.

Still are, in my eyes. Big homes too much work. I like to live in little places.

Just woke up from a short nap. I don't like nap dreams, they're always so strange, then you wake up and have no idea where you are or what just happened.

Yeah, they're akin to fever dreams sometimes where I feel I'm asleep for hours or days but it's only like 10mins sometimes or half an hour. Though I kinda like the dreams because they're so vivid and out there.

I did one during the week I honestly thought I'd slept for 24hrs, because in my dream I was sleeping and I remember getting a phone call in the dream and I said in the dream oh sorry I have slept all day. So when I woke up I thought that must have happened but it was only like less than 10mins sleep.

OK I guess that doesn't sound very vivid or strange lol, but some of my fever dreams when I was really sick were just absolutely epic. I still remember most of them too, if I could remember the dialogue I'd write a book about it.. But I only remember being with a Viking guy in the Viking time and people were trying to burn down our cabin and we were hacking and slashing for days, like they kept coming in waves. Then we went for this long walk elsewhere and in the woods and it was all white from snow. That was a series of dreams that lasted 10mins of that but I was able to fall back into the same dreams.

Since it was glandular fever or "mono" I think, I drenched the sheets in sweat, I would be so cold but just sweating. Shaking all over the place uncontrollably. I was really sick during that time but it for worse when I was sleeping or just awaken. I remember by end of day I felt fine but as soon as I sleep I'd wake up in 15mins drenched again.

This went on for months. It's probably where I first met my guardian in those dreams, my lady in black who I've seen many times since in dreams I can remember. She never talks to me she's just there in the distant watching me. I ran to her once but the closer I got the farther she is away. Once I got to her like physically but she didn't say anything she just stared at me. Then walked away and disappeared.

I've always related to her as almost like a sign that when I see her something significant is going to happen in my life, because in all honesty that's when I see her. The last time was a while ago but was the night before I got married I saw her again. It's always peaceful and not scary, I'm more genuinely curious about her in my dreams but I want to talk to her too.

    I call her Zorya.

Turn off all the lights, start thinking about a lost love, drink some whiskey and listen to this song. That's why.

It's a good kind of agony...the kind you can cry your eyes out and feel better later.
