Steven Spielberg is talking about Netflix. I like his movies an awful lot, like for instance that "Ready Player One" movie I thought was brilliant, but I'm not big on movie theaters. And the crux of what he seems to be saying is that Netflix is no replacement for the theatrical experience, but I think it is exactly that.

So that's what crossed my mind several minutes ago. I think there should be a thread about it, but I don't make threads.

I agree with him. I enjoy going to cinema when they do old screenings of movies I never got to when I was a child that I enjoy. I don't watch TV anymore so I don't get into Netflix or anything, it kind of forces you to pick something anyway and sometimes I just wanna zone out on the couch if I am watching TV's so I don't want to think about something I need to watch or anything... But I'd never swap the experience to watch a good movie at home rather than a theatre.

I never thought I'd be the type to walk away from the TV tbh, but I find it all a bit wank these days with the reality shows and constant reruns of shows. I can find more documentaries I'm interested in on YouTube now which I watch in the bath. I'll watch sports of course, but not many I'm interested in are on at the moment except racing but that's a weekend thing. I actually haven't sat down in our lounge room with the TV on for over a week now.

Miss still watches it, but she watches cooking shows mostly.... and then I get a list of food to make by the weeks end.

 

I just dont think there have been very many good movies in the last few years. I would rather stay home and watch netflix or some other streaming service simply because they're putting out better original content than what is in the theatres

The theatrical experience aint shit if the movies suck lol. But I love going to the movies and seeing a really great movie. Just doesnt happen very often in these dark times

True, Meliai. Same as with music and literature. I've thought a lot about why this is. Something to do with money/profit.

 

Oh I like going to see bad movies just for the laugh. We do it all the time, like dumb horrors we used to even go to the video store and rent out 5 weekly and 2 nightly movies and we'd most pick movies that looked bad and stupid and then we watched them and just laughed.

I'll plonk my ass in a movie theatre with my popcorn and 4 12% Woodstock cans, then I'll stumble out and my go to first words are "never seen so much shit in my life" it's like an ongoing joke we have, and it's always worth it. Also the moment we round the corner into the cinema I usually say "pohh.. Stinks in here".. A guy said that once, years and years ago and it was so funny how he said it, so I emulate that for a lol. I also really dig popcorn.

Though I must say even the bad movies at the moment coming out aren't even interesting to me. Maybe the lion king and aladdin, I'll see them.. But I'm not really enthused about them.

Movies I want to come back to cinema for one showing are Terminator, T32, Jaws and never ending story, maybe even aliens but it won't be the directors cut so not much point IMO.

Got my medication in the mail this morning. I was dubious that would actually work, but, here it is. it's just ended up being easier than going to pharmacy and waiting a couple of days for the medication as they rarely had it on hand like... Omg.. Is nobody else is this town fucked in the head or something?

I'm going to fix my magnets up so I'll have #24 followed by our main racing league logo and some "winner" checkered flags for the races I've won.

Then on the back window I want to put my grandfathers division numbers in the right rear in the same font that was painted on the armour maybe also on the front left windshield and then the Deutsches Heer military cross of the army today.

I love numbers and insignia. when I see vehicles with them I'm always like o0o00oo0oo what's this guy into.

 

I thought with the warmer weather and snow melting my grass would be nice and epic green... But nope. It's all freeze burned and ugly.

 

You know it's been about a week since I really last watched TV. That ends now cause I just layed down, I'm exhausted, I'll put the idiot box on, see if Deborah actually likes Ray's parents this episode.

Hubby tried the online pharmacy until they were late with his Insulin.

He says there is one medication that he may again try it with.

Delivery of everything has become alot more prevalent than when he first tried the pharmacy delivery.

 

Some worthless asshole jumped in front of the train I was supposed to catch. Why can't these people kill themselves without bothering everybody else, and even traumatize some (like the machinist and those folks who have the job of picking up the leftovers)..?
