Does he cut it up for fire wood? Or carve it?

There has been a lot of old, rotten wood falling from the oaks around here during the wind. Some of the pieces are fairly long. I'll be dragging them across the road.

We burn it. We just have the fire pit in the yard but this would make excellent wood for burning in a fireplace. It's solid and heavy.

He hurt himself trying to pick up the end of the whole log. I hope he didn't get a hernia.

    I'm starting laundry, too.

I'm nervous about turning my back on the dogs. They are out on their long leads in the yard; but, Emma managed to get the clip on her leash open last night. At 11:30 I noticed she was gone and a young neighbor man was bringing her home to me.

I keep forgetting to do this....

Anyways.... Went down and got some more mulch, 9 bags, 5 on sale and 4 broken bag, which is 1/2 off sale price... (still not enough, if there is such a thing as enough mulch) On the way back I stopped at another place that had 40% off trees and shrubs. Got a Canadian Hemlock, 5 gal size about 4 foot tall for less than $40.00. I'm going to be digging a rather large hole...

Still have humming birds, although a lot less than two weeks ago. I've been feeding them since May... Just put out a fresh batch of nectar.

O made myself a nice salad mix, celery, orange, apple, hand full of mixed nuts, spoon of mayo!

Probably not so low in sugar, but wow it's lovely with fresh bread! Oh boy!

    Not much going on here.

I took a nap this evening and now I'm attempting to be awake.

I'm putting some foam pipe wrap on the handle of the flea comb. My hand has been hurting pretty bad and it occurred to me that I've been using that little comb alot.

Thursday I'm getting my hair redone - color wise. I'm having all the color stripped off and she will put a silverish chrome color on there...that's the closest that will come to my white roots. I'm ready to embrace ME. lol Well...I think I am anyway. I'm definitely ready to UNembrace hair color. It had gotten to where it was just too much trouble to me.

This procedure will take hours. I may post a picture.

If I was still out in the working world, I feel sure I'd look at this completely differently (since I often got compliments). lol

However, that is no longer the case...I am here and my only contact with the public is as a consumer or customer. Mama is all but FLIPPED OUT that I'm doing this, which only encourages me. lol :D

    Lol, Lynn!

We still talk about the time, years ago, that we were talking to my mother and I told her that I would not be coloring my hair to cover grays when that started happening to my hair.

She almost yells, "You will to!"

We imitate her saying that every so often and get a chuckle out of it.

    I don't. I'm not; and I won't!

I only have some silver mixed in. I'm getting softly silver at the temples.

I love your hair, Aeri! So nice and full with body. I have very thick hair, and its straight as a stick except for a little area behind one of my ears where its sort of frizzy. lol

Mama has asked me more than 100 times why I'm doing this and "just what exactly are you going to have done again". She understands perfectly well what I'm saying and what I'm going to have done.

Having completely white hair and hair that turns very early is common in my mother's family. I've told her I'm following family tradition. She said "shit".

    Lol.

    Does Mama color her hair?

Thanks for the compliment on my hair. I love it being natural. All I have to do is wash it and let it air dry.

When my grandmother died at 92 she still had some natural brown mixed in her hair.

Like any number of other things, Mama manages to come up with the most troublesome thing in the world. She likes to use "Fanciful Rinse" on her hair. This is a temporary rinse that is as thick as water. The ONLY thing this rinse is sort of temporary on is hair!!! If you get any anywhere else it is permanent. See how funny that is! :eyeroll:

She decided months ago I don't put enough on her hair to suit her. lol Her "color" is Plush Brown...and no, it doesn't look plush brown. I don't know how to describe it...light brown with white mixed in. Reddish somewhat. lol Whatever....she does it herself when she breaks down and washes her hair. lol I roll it up.

Lord, Lynn you're giving me flash backs!

My mom used that stuff. It's stains combs and pillowcases.

    God, I remember...

:D and the floor or wall or ANYWHERE that it drips onto if you don't immediately wipe it up. Any clothing you get it on, its there forever. And you absolutely must wear gloves or your hands will also be stained with that shit. lol I put gloves on my hands. Mama starts out with them (gloves), and takes them off before she gets through...every time. Somehow her hands don't seem to get too stained...idk how ... that's one of those mysteries I don't care if I ever understand
