We ended up building a rectangular shaped raised bed out of landscape timbers for the Sunflowers; and we put together some plastic edging, making rings, to make two beds for the Zinias. It should all be pretty this Summer.

It was a very chilly day here...and in the 30's tonight. I am glad i have not put the plants out yet...It may go below freezing tonight. It feels good, though, I was not ready for it to be in the 80's yet.

Yesterday I dug 3 good (big) holes for tomatoes. Well, I dug 2 1/2 holes and broke the spade shovel. I then went to Ace Hardware and bought another shovel and came home and finished digging the 3rd one.

Today I dug another good (big) tomato hole and went about 15 feet down and dug 4 more good holes for peppers.

I'm about dug out, and my back is wanting to cry. lol

The evenings have been sort of cool here too but not really bad. I will be crying a dang river if it gets cool enough to hurt my plants I have going now!!!

I'm about to take some of that empathy killing acetaminophen ;) and take a hot shower...

well tomorrow i have to dismantle my kitchen shelves so maintenance can install, what i think the british used to call a guisser, which if i have that right, what we call an on demand water heater.
that is if/when they actually show up to do so. there's a central water heating system, but my unit is so far from it, the water used to have to run for twenty minuets to get hot.
they've put one in my neighbors, and would have already done so in mine, except they picked right when furry con (blfc, which started on thursday) was going on to want to do so,
and so they aggreed to wait until this monday instead. so i'll be taking the plastic shelf unit apart and putting it along with everything i have on it, on top of my bed when i get up tomorrow.
because there really isn't any place else to set it. hope they actually show up and get it done when i do.

what are the odds they don't actually show up today, now that i have?

(this years b.l.f.c. WAS the best furry convention EVER. not just according to me, but i've not heard otherwise from any of the almost 4,000 of us who were there.)

I am going to make a big pot of rice in few minutes here........and tomorrow put it together with black beans, garlic, celery and whole tomatoes, like a big huge pan of it that will be eaten for days. i cannot wait, and am hungry for it now, but I will not be able to get the celery to make it until tomorrow......

I didn't get to bed until 5:15 this morning.

It rained some last night. I think we have more, off and on, through Sunday. The ground certainly needs it.

I need to go to Walmart for cat food and flea drops this evening.

My huge pan of black beans, brown rice, celery, garlic, whole peeled tomatoes, and one jar of barilla tomato sauce is baking now. This pan could feed 20 people easily without leaving anyone hungry. I put jalapeno cheddar in the corner, we are going to eat now to melt in......and I will have to put the rest in many containers to fit in the refridgerator, as this huge pan will not fit in the fridge...but it is out of this world......and it is one of the healthiest things....besides the cheese...lol

    ^ YUM!!!

Well my daughters foot was not broken :)

I am currently starting 5 days off from work. Tonight I am going for a much needed sauna, spa and massage. This up coming weekend my daughter and I are going to start looking around to adopt a cat from the animal welfare league. It's been so long since I had a cat!

Moved more stone dust yesterday, used it to level the bocce court I'm building in the middle of the veggie garden. My back tells me it's done. I still have a few tons to move down to where I park my trailer.

Then I mowed the lawn but the mower started spitting and sputtering so I drove it to the garage in case it quit so I didn't have to push it. Shut it off and it wouldn't restart.
So I figured it wasn't getting gas so I kept choking it, then I figured it was flooded so I puled the plugs and saw they were dry so I was back to thinking it wasn't getting gas.
So then I sprayed starting fluid in each cylinder (it has two) and it still wouldn't fire so I checked for spark which it had...so I was stumped and it was getting late so I quit.

Then this morning I pulled the fuel line off to see if it was pumping fuel as it has a fuel pump. I turned the key and the dang thing started up with no fuel line attached and started pumping gas all over the place!
So screw that, I decided to take the carburetor off and clean it, which I did with some carburetor cleaner. Slapped it back on and it started right up. So I finished mowing the lawn and then transplanted a Crimson King maple tree to my front lawn that was growing under another Crimson King maple along the one border of my property.
It looks something like this, except only about a foot tall:

Actually it's a twig with a few leaves.
Then I loafed the rest of the day.
