I'm listening to Irish ballads, watching my Swiss Cheese plant die because it's got too big and I need the space. Is it possible to murder a plant?

Cool! I've never heard of it. You should put a pic in the Virtual Wilderness thread.

Yes. Give it away. Sit it on the curb or something.

Stopped off in Hawthorne on the way to the airport. Saw the plaque commemorating the Beach Boys' childhood home.

Talked to may dad today. First time in 15 years. It was...odd.

Took mom and aunt out for dinner. Stopped at a couple bars but nothing they wanted. (Corned beef on rye) my sister calls and says they have free corned beef at the elks. (Cheapest dinner for 3 ever) 6 premium priced beers but I was expecting 60-75 dollars for the day.

When you do the cooking, do you have to sit down, rest, and cool off before you eat dinner?

no, but "the cooking" in my house generally consists of pressing a series of buttons on the microwave.

Got a flier in the mail from the organization that sponsored the last car show I registered my vintage car in.

They’ve lowered the show car age requirement by 8 years this time. Last year, your car couldn’t be younger than 1971. Now, it can’t be newer than 1979.

Man, most of the cars between that time frame are not really show worthy. Unless you did something awesome to customize them.

    .

For many years, the cars of the post Saudi oil embargo were neglected compared to pre embargo cars. Plus, the 70s was the time crash testing and impact regulations were becoming huge. Designers didn’t focus on the form as much as the function during this time. So I’m surprised to see these bland cars being welcomed to a vintage car show.

But I guess these days it’s becoming a rarity to find asedan or a sports car with a solid chrome bumper, or glass headlamps anymore. They do have a distinct character to them that you don’t see in any car younger than 20years old.

They will become museum pieces over the next half century or so, as even the internal combustion engine becomes an endangered species.

i had a small breakfast at an i-hop this morning. well yesterday now i guess. on my way to shopping and had my shopping bags with me.
also all bundled up because it was cold, had snowed the previous day, melt and refroze dangerous ice.
ordered a small senior discounted breakfast because i eat too much anyway.

i have no idea why and can only make wild guesses as to whom,
but when i asked for the check, i was told someone else had already paid for it.

i've been in a good smiling mood ever since. but mystified.
(i don't really know anyone personally very well)
reaffirms my claim that strangeness is more often good then not though.

and my thought hugs to whoever it was.
(i'm guessing either a complete stranger or someone from fur affinity i didn't know was local)
(there are several i suspect but don't know for sure, might be.
then of course there are some people i sort of know distantly who are local,
but i don't see often enough to for sure recognize)

i looked around as i was leaving to see if anyone wanted to wave me over, but i didn't see any.
