i have been on hold with Social Security for 1 1/2 hours...I'm pretty sure they closed for the weekend and just left me on hold.

 

That sounds like our government.

 

Almost 2 hours, now...

 

So I'm an alcoholic, and my advice (for what it's worth) is to try going 30 days sober. If this idea alarms you, or if you just are unable to do this, then you may have a more serious problem. Also there alternatives to AA. I tried AA but couldn't handle the religious element to it so I quit and just do it on my own.

 

Just about to crack open a cold can of Woodstock.

 

At the Newton theater. 600 seats so it goes without saying that there isn't a bad seat in the house. I'm all the way in the back (what did I expect from getting the cheapest seats the day before the show. But I am right in the center of the stage, so that's cool. Unless I have to pee and ask lots of people to stand up. So far nobody is in my row or the 3 in front of me or the one behind me.

That will teach howard jones to play in the middle of fucking nowhere instead of nyc where he could have filled at least half of a place like Roseland ballroom.
But shit, this should make for an interesting show.

 

Two complete hours on the phone waiting for Social Security to tell me that my husband has apparently been getting his check early for months and months.

According to them, his pay date never changed from the 3rd of the month and all these months that it has been coming on the 4th Wednesday of the month was just because it was getting there early.

I think those employees are full of shit and don't know what the hell they are talking about.

Social Security, two different employees, just lied to me so bad.

They told me that my husband's pay date had never changed from the 3rd of the month.

I just looked it up, again.

On the Social Security.gov website it says the only people whose pay date remained on the 3rd and did not change in relation to their birthday was people getting benefits before May 1997.

He got his disability in 2011.

God damn it! I'm so pissed off!

That really isn't this issue. lived in a county that allowed recreational sales, the county I am in now doesn't.
my medical recommendation expired in July and haven't had time or the extra $$$ to renew it, don't have a car to make the hour drive to get it renewed where I had gotten it before, etc.,etc.
booze is so easily available and the market we shop at has some awesome coupons that make $10 only cost $6, ain't gonna get much weed for that little $$$.
but in a few more months it will legal for recreational sales statewide.

anyway my issue would be I would end calling bullshit on a lot of their ideas and teaching, as if that would be a surprise to any of you guys...LOL
not the religious aspects, but the bullshit interpretation of same.
for what it's worth I am a rather spiritually minded/mindfull person, probably a lot more than folks running an AA meeting.
I wouldn't mind using the remedy that got AA's founder, Bill ?, off the booze, a few good sessions with my old girl Lucy.

I am not having an issue with NOT drinking, not gonna drink anything tonight or for the foreseeable future at this point.
My problem is that when I do drink I tend to drink more than is prudent. Do the same with weed and frankly any substance I tend to overdo.
Thank Gawd I never really got into coke, heroin or meth....well I did get into meth, but back in the days when it was known as crank and ya snorted it, not smoked it.
last two days I woke feeling like shit, so gonna lay off the takillya for a while.
