Hubby's tummy and mouth have such a narrow window of foods I can cook that he will eat... It's not easy.

At least I don't heat up the kitchen daily. I'll cook "big" and freeze lots of stuff for reheating in the microwave. I guess that's easy to do when I'm only cooking for two people.

There are 6 at my son's house. They cook every day.

Grilling out becomes worse than cooking indoors because of extreme humidity and mosquitoes.

So far we haven't had a bad mosquito problem and that is strange.

Hubby can't enjoy grilled meat because he doesn't have teeth.

Basically, the only meat he eats is ground beef.

I went to bed around 11:30, and I slept for at least 2 hours. I TOLD myself I would go back to sleep, and at 3:33 I got up. When I get up/wake up like this, it seems I tend to get up at 2:22, 3:33, 4:44, and like that.

Anyway, I decided to give up trying to sleep and got online.

Its after 5am and I'm supposed to be turning out the light since that is usually the time I say I WILL go back to sleep for a little while.

    bah humbug

Yeah.... I might have gotten 3 hours sleep. Too bad it wasn't 3 hours continuous.

Sure is wet out there. Don't know if it was enough to help the big trees though...

We got 3 1/2 inches of rain in 6 hours last night. Thunder periodically. Not a lot of sleep. I heard a lot of rain coming down but not much of the wind they predicted. My area seems OK but several towns around me have floods. Some guy in a pickup truck drove into a sinkhole. Why does anyone think they can drive through standing water?

they havnt seen enough funniest home videos. i get it though, you might be miles from home and dont know when the flood will go away. and lets face it, you dont know how deep it is until you drive through it.
i went to the bathroom and where there is no attic i could hear the rain on the roof...and now i can hear it in my room. it suddenly got darker and wetter outside.

Got the first coat of Teak Oil on the Sequoia Redwood scabbard for the last sword I got... Still need to make brass trim and mountings. Two more Redwood scabbards to go, and one leather one.

Humid outside now... Side effect of the rain, and it's 87 degrees. Like walking in a hot swimming pool.
