What's Happening?

I won the auction for my oldest granddaughter's dress!

These are the triplets' dresses. Than hang straight and are just fanned out in the pic. My daughter wanted them to be in dark purple and the bridesmaids to be in black. Everybody gets to pick their own dress.






This is what I won for the oldest granddaughter.





It's just amazing to me because she wears an 8 Petite and I never thought I'd find a long black dress for her, let alone one that looks so good with her sisters' and was $25 including shipping!

Her sisters' dresses were $25 each too! I'm so proud that I found dresses that their parents only have to spend $100 total for!

Oh, and I also have a brand new dress, with tags, that I'm hoping their mom can wear to the wedding!


Edit- I found out the dress is from a designer that sells in better department stores. It's a Betsy and Adam dress. They usually sell for about $250.

 

Hey Y'all -

It's a chill evening around here with no ballgames to go to this weekend. That'll give me a good chance to catch a little sunshine, to air out my suitcase, to think about what I want to pack for my beach trip. I'll be leaving next Friday night.

I'm down about losing Willow, my kitty. It's been 8 days since I last saw him. I can't believe it. I'm still choking back the tears because I know that's what I have to do. It's not how I feel but unless I plan to end up in the loony bin, I have to. No goodbye or anything = just gone.

Jesus, somebody help me out here. I need to feel better and I'm not helping myself with this talk!

 

At the vfw they are having karaoke. Sitting outside alone with my sister and her hubby. Too crowded inside. My sister needed a seat.

 

Do y'all sing karaoke?

I'm a person that loves so deeply that when I lose someone I love it almost takes me, too. I'm not being dramatic, or poetic, but literal.

I wish that I could grow a little bit calloused in that way so that I didn't hurt too much when someone leaves.

 

I know how you feel I think...I'm still not over the first girl I fell in love with, and that's been 25 years ago. I haven't really been able to move on.

 

No, we are honest with each other and are polite enough to not hurt others ears. I wish half the people there were the same way.

 

It does sound like you know what I'm talking about with some exception. I can, will, and do love again...and again...and again; but once I love you - you're loved. I never un-love anybody, I have the capacity to love multiple times.

 

Ha, ha, ha!

I feel that way about people that take alot of selfies, too!

 

Okay, here is some math for anybody who likes it.

If I pack 4 tops, 3 bottoms, and 1 button down shirt - How many outfits will I have? Just say that everything is either black or white in color to simplify things.

I came up with an answer, and hubby came up with a different answer.

 

^ lol yeah, what's the algorithm or um ?algebra? (idk) for that! lol I used to try to remember the "shortcut" formulas for doing stuff like this in my "real life" outside of school, but I could never remember all of that stuff! need a textbook!!

well, thinking about you Aeri. I will try to keep it positive so will just say, my what beautiful dresses you've found!! And this trip (trip? going on a trip??) well...well, I hope it's ?fun? or ?settling? (not unsettling). idk. i guess i missed something. hmm


oh ok, so the math...ahh, sorry, I'm too mentally preoccupied at the moment. I think an hour or two has passed since I wanted to start this knitting again and I got distracted here. haha

but wait...ok, so wouldn't it be (4+1)*3??? or does the button down shirt go over the other shirts? In that case hmm... (4*3) + (4*1) ???

15 or 16 (yeah, black and white lol wish I could make that many outfits out of my tops and bottoms. j/k keep it simple, jeans or black pants. )

My daughter and future daughter-in-law are taking me to the beach. My grandson will be going and also another couple. This will be the 3rd year in a row that they've taken me. I'm going to have a blast!

I'm fascinated by these "capsule wardrobe" combinations that I've been seeing on Pinterest.

Yes the button down top can go over all the outfits.

I came up with 30 outfits.

Hubby finally had to agree with me after he tried some kind of math, not taking into account that you can't just wear 4 tops and no bottoms, lol

I still have no idea what I'll actually take with me.

I just was working on a sample on paper.


1 Oatmeal colored Tee
1 Aqua Tee
1 Black Tank Top
1 Aqua Tank Top
1 pair of Khaki Shorts
1 pair of Denim Shorts
1 pair of Denim Jeans
1 Blush colored Button-down Shirt
1 pair of shoes

I think that's 30 outfits.

Then it can go crazy with several pairs of shoes, a couple of different button-downs, some scarves...

I mean this stuff boggles my mind!
