Going to a Dave Matthews/ Tim Reynolds concert tomorrow.

A guy I work with is a big DMB fan. Maybe we will tailgate a bit before. He got good seats though, I got tickets late. All that was left was lawn seats. I am happy enough with lawn seats though.

Every time a pet dies I feel you just have to get another one to fill the void. :) that's the only thing that takes my mind off it too if I go days without I just get upset and more upset but if go and replace it, I kind of forget which sounds bad but at the same time I like to think I'm giving life a bit back with my new friend.

I know you can't get a dog overnight but I plan on having our second dog before Atreyú passes away.

And my others were rabbits and fish so a little easier to replace though when you are very picky like I am about shape and color and everything it can take some time like not many people sell erected ear bunnies, they like them soft and lopped. Ugh I don't like it. So I wait until the good looking bunnies come on sale if I'm lucky.

I always see a new fun rabbit at the pet store but I'm not really in the market for one, but when they bounce up and wriggle their nose it's really hard for me to say no.

I've been working on my crocheted plastic bag tote bag.

I planted a sweet potato plant...

Got the roll of old carpet out of the house and into the trash bin, with my son's help.

I'm trying to take it easy so the FMS doesn't flare again. I'm feeling ache-ish around the edges.

Do you live in a metro type city area? Or just a big city in general?

We just don't see that type of thing in the hills. :D

So interesting. I've never met a gypsy on the street, but I hear a lot of heated complaints about them from friends who have lived in or visited eastern Europe. What differentiates them from ordinary homeless folk? Why does everyone seem to get so angry about them?

Yeah, I live in the capital.

It has it flaws, but I prefer it for the moment.
I could envision myself living in a smaller town, maybe on the coast (actually, preferably on the coast).
But right now, and for some time in the future, I need to be in the city.

They are often not your ordinary homeless folk.
A lot of it is organized crime.

It's a group of people that just refuse to live by the rules that we others obey.
No sense of social responsibility...they just don't see why would they have to work or go to school, when they can beg for money, steal and then sell stolen goods, or have kids and collect benefits.
I've never seen a grown up gypsy with less than 5 kids lol.
It's like...why work when others can give us money?

Those that try...their environment pulls them back in.
You can send the kids to school, but it rarely helps.
They rarely send the kids to school anyways, even though it's mandatory.
    Rules don't work for them.
The social services....the police...they don't want to mess with them most of the time, unless they really, really have to.
There's this aggressive gypsy woman always roaming about the bus station here, literally grabbing people's hands and dragging them, asking for money.
When you say no, she can get really vulgar and aggressive.
The police sometimes makes her leave...but she ALWAYS comes back after a few days.
The thing is...she is young. You could try giving her a job, but you think that'd work?
The problem is bigger than that.

The area where they move in...criminal, collecting garbage, yelling and shouting. Literally destroying the houses/apartments.
It's a huge problem here. They've learned to take advantage of the system, in a way.
A few years ago, a lot of them were given free apartments...in nice new buildings, that were built especially for these poor people that live on benefits.
So a lot of gypsies but also your other regular people.
    So what happened?
Those regular familes moved out, and it's an area that people stay away from these days. Destroyed flats, and garbage all over the place.

Some people tend to romanticize gypsies, but those days are long gone.

Mess with one gypsy, you'll get 10 following you and bullying you.

The new hand held shower head arrived. I'm taking it on vacation and installing it in the condo. My friends don't stay there enough to think about it being a necessity. They stay there for a night or two and then they're off traveling for work or staying at one of their other homes. I find it too difficult to properly shower with a standard, fixed, shower head.
