I noticed two things this morning about the small herd of deer that live here.... (btw, they slept in the side yard last night, just outside the fence)

First is there's now 8 doe, one more joined sometime overnight. Pecking order seems to have been sorted, the new one has probably been here before and knows the group.

Second is one of the babies from this spring has a very bad limp, must have twisted or broken one of it's back legs sometime in the last few days. Bad time of year to go lame...

I wish I had a stack of firewood... There's a couple of trees I brought down, but there's none split and stacked as of yet. What I brought down may not be enough for the winter either.

My parents have been doing that for the past 5 days, so much work!

I wish I had more free time to go and help.

No point of even a question? Huh?
Do you seriously mind people asking a simple question like "do people eat cake with a spoon"

I don't care how you eat it.

Sometimes, I eat cake with my hands.

I was able to see that lame baby deer (okay, half grown) this evening. The left rear knee has a huge knot on the inside of the leg and she can't put any weight on it. Dislocation? Whatever, it is it's not minor... She's gonna be lame for life. However long that is.

Little Bandit has been miserable in the rain today... He's trying to pretend he's not relying on me for food right now. He may have learned he's not supposed to climb the screen door though... I had to shoo him off it again last night, nicely, so now he's sulking around again, but hasn't been on the door since.

The rain here was weird today... Even when it was a slow rain the drops were huge. The noise woke me up this morning (well yesterday, now that it's already tomorrow) but it wasn't pouring... Just drops the size of a dime.

All perfectly normal though, it's always been like that.
