Bomb threats stopped two flights from landing in France.

Both flights have landed safely now.

Flight 65, headed from Los Angeles to Paris, was diverted to Salt Lake City after a bomb threat was called in from the ground, a U.S. government official said.

Shortly afterward, Air France Flight 55 from Washington's Dulles International Airport to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris was diverted to an airport in Halifax, Nova Scotia -- also due to a bomb threat, a government source said.

The real issue here is that the threats are being levied against flights that originate in the US. Eventually they will not be take seriously. As each is proven to be a hoax. That's when it will likely happen, when the "hoax" calls are ignored. Of course the passengers will know nothing of this. It's bad for (airline) business!

France has included tighter gun control in a list of demands put before the EU interior ministers.

"New EU rules on firearms sales are “indispensable and urgent”, the French document says. On Wednesday, the commission in Brussels said it would soon propose detailed regulations banning the sale of semi-automatic weapons to private persons. Theresa May, the UK home secretary, has also been calling for an EU crackdown on the firearms business.
The new rules “should improve the traceability of firearms on EU territory by adopting a common marking system, more rigorous framing of internet firearms sales, banning 3D printouts for firearms on the internet”, and the electronic tagging of firearms to facilitate the tracking of a weapon’s lifecycle anywhere in the EU.

It is believed that the "mastermind" was killed in the raids in Paris last night.

I was watching an interview on a news channel a little earlier and FBI agent said that there is a list of people that they are watching in the US, and he also said that they are in every single state in the USA.

It is hard to remain happy and optimistic being bombarded with news such as this every time I tune in, so i think i will stop watching or listening for awhile for my own sanity.

The only recent legitimate concern for safety was an incident which took place on Flight 213 from London to Boston when an intoxicated female passenger attempted to open an exit door at 35,000 feet.
