I know it is also the scientic name for people from India. In our own language we have made a little distinguishment after Columbus found these americans I guess in dutch american indians are the only real indians

lol If you said that on certain reservations, you'd be lucky to get out of there with your face intact. Certain places, the word "indian" is akin to the n-word.

 

That would be out of his fault the word indian is only used for native americans in our language. Inhabitants of India have been called indiërs here for centuries.
