What makes you think the government's behind it? What control do they have over whether people use wind power or not? I'd think the finger should be pointed at industry, not government (though, of course, they are both heads of the same beast). Not that I really believe in this environmentalist stuff anyway. Not to the same degree a lot of people here do, anyway.
Charity begins at home. Learn to feed and clothe yourself on equal terms with nature. Grow strong in yourself, then you can share your strength with others. No government can protect us from the realities of existence.
What is happening to our planet is a normal occurence. The Earth will shed itself of what is biting her backside. She has always done so in the past. Some ppl are just exploiting the fact. There is absolutly nothing we can do to change the pattern set for the earth. As the planet evolves it goes through many stages, 2012 is the begining of the next cycle. We cannot predict what will happen, or how servere it will get. How puny we are up against it, with our pompus grandure. Mother Earth will rid herself of us like fleas onna dog and the eliete will be living in spacestations. It's already up and running. You can now visit space and stay in a space motel for a cool 3 million. I dont know how they get their air, food and water.. their shiping and handling on a deal like that would be outragous. I wonder what they will do with all the trash ect.. I mean imagin sitting there sucking on a tube of mush and see a turd floating by in space.. space turds are the worst ya know. What will eventually happen is humans flying around in space looking for inhabitable planets to conqure. It's kind of ironic, bc we are mesmerized/romanced with outter space and aliens taking over our planet. But as it looks now, it seems we will be the invaders, the Vs. Sometimes the fleas kill the dog and when one dog is dead they simply hop onto another dog. As we came from space ( heaven) in the frist place it would be reasonable to believe we will return from wince we came. I wonder who/what we anilalated when we first arrived and what we will distroy in our quest for survival. Blessings sh
Let me clarify: the government is not pushing pollution, as in creating pollution for the sake of creating pollution. But they would arrest me and throw me in jail for growing a plant that gives be fibers, food and fuel; they might order me to take down a 90 foot pole with a rotating blade on the end of it, simply because it produces electricity (has been done - most people encourage personal windmills but other places don't). They might make large investments in companies that produce insane amounts of pollution, simply because that industry would make them money. They might ticket me for driving a vehicle that happens to be running on cooking oil. While I understand that the world is naturally cycling and that humans may become extinct - I wouldn't care if the world was ending in 3 days - pollution reduces quality of life every time a person is exposed to it; some get asthma attacks while visiting polluted cities, some get localized pain or discomfort (for example upset stomach from drinking water, rashes from direct contact with chemicals), some people just feel like shit and run out of energy faster. Over the long term, it produces illness. It also seems to stick around for a while, as in it won't be coming off the bottom of the great lakes anytime soon.
Why is it that so many environmental types say they don't care if the world ends tomorrow? I'm seriously curious, because I've seen this quite a few times.
Relative to the point being made; people say "the world will end in X number of days or years anyway so there is no point to save it". (A hot date is usually 2012) Well great, but I still don't want pollution floating through my neighborhood. If anything, I'd want my last days in a place with clean air and good water.
i think the person who started this whole thread was just looking to get a rise out of everyone. and he did. so i think we should just put it aside..its not worth agrueing about. to the dude who started all this, you should try to be a little (or alot) nicer if you want people to listen and make changes for mother earth. people arent going to react well with being called stupid and wrong...just relax and have civil conversation. peace
