Top cop convinces himself that someone is going to break the law on May 7th.

“There’s not been much debate at the moment about what the future looks like because we’re all in the present,”

“But we’ve got to look at the social and economic impact … there are going to be people who are out of work, businesses that have not been able to sustain themselves, and the impact on society will start to come through.”

“If there are challenges economically, there is sometimes a rise in crime and disorder.”

Final act of stage three plan is going to be quite an experience.

“It is the case that if we manage to ensure that the rate of infection has kept low, if we can see the rate of deaths falling, if we can make sure that the NHS’s capacity is as strong as it can be, then we can think about some of the steps we may be able to take in order to release some of the restrictions that are already in place.

“But the important thing is that we’re guided, as we have been throughout, by the facts and by the scientific advice that we receive and the facts and the advice are clear at the moment, that we should not be thinking of lifting these restrictions yet.”

NHS convinces it's self that someone has been drinking.

“Alcohol has been flying off the shelves. Because people aren’t going out, they have more money to spend, and there’s no pubs so everyone’s drinking at home– and, from what I can see, drinking quite a lot.

The car park is full again, so the wildlife is gone. There’s not a lot of panic about it any more. I’d rather people do a trolley dash, but as there’s nothing else to do, and supermarkets are one of the only places still open, it’s leisure time.

Some people are still taking it seriously. A lady came in spraying Dettol all over her bag, her purchases, and because I was behind the till, all over me. It’s also strange being surrounded by people in masks, it’s like every dystopian film coming to life.”

    Government green rather ripe!

“This phase would allow for a wider opening of services including sports grounds, leisure facilities and gyms – but the latter would have to follow strict cleaning procedures. Pubs could also re-open with restrictions, while gatherings such as weddings and funerals could go ahead with larger numbers of attendees. However face masks would still be required on public transport.”

Doing the opposite as we are told is in our nature because we evolved from cats. Not monkeys.
