It seems there are two different people using vigilantes account or something.

I read her posts and some seem nice and helpful but the next day bam! she seems to want to start things with people.

Makes no difference to me how she is though, to each their own, and own opinion.

Yeah that's exactly what I was trying to accomplish by saying lets not bring up past shit.

All I was saying was, lets not give you know who anymore reason to whine about how everyone doesn't like him and they always drag him into threads that don't involve him that he hasn't even posted in. This thread doesn't have anything to do with soaringeagle and until he posts something that deserves response, scrutiny, or attention keep him and prior situations out of other peoples' "battles" (couldn't think of a better word)

Anyways. My favorite bead was given to me 2 summers ago by my friend Carrie. It is glass, pink with black spots, and reminds me of a piece of watermelon. Everytime I feel it or see it I think of all the good times I've had with Carrie and her boyfriend (and a few other good folks) over that summer camping, playing guitar, eating magic "potions" and thoroughly enjoying life. Nothing wrong with decorating my hair with objects holding sentimental value.

Nothing hypocritical about it bud. I only called you know who out when he was spreading the manure to newbs. I have done nothing like what vigilante is doing in this thread and I'm sure others will agree. I have never stated my own opinions by insulting someone elses choice or tastes. In the situations you are referring to I was only correcting someone when they were calling their opinion fact when it clearly is not fact.

 

I don't get what she has done? I didn't really read anything overly offensive in her postts

I also believe to many beads look bogus

I use to wear beads... then I went out surfing, smacked the side of my head on the board and the bead felt like it cracked my skull. Obviously didn't... but the pain was overwhelming.

I also agree with what Pat has been saying.... he seems chill.

i do totally get some of what youre saying pat... but i think you must not have read some of the shit this chick has said (to me and other members and this community in general) and, to quote you, almost all of the soaringeagle shit was "before your time". ive been posting here since early 2007 and all the shit that came out recently is built up over a couple of years.
the whole tune of this place has changed a lot recently. just before you started posting, people started voicing their opinions and disagreeing with soaringeagle regarding some things. previously, (and since we all left a year ago) he had ruled the forum and no one seemed to want to speak up with contrary opinions or more sensible ideas.

Coz wasn't she, or someone, being a total bitchtroll in the sexy thread or somewhere a while back, then like the next day starting a load of "ooh look at my very interesting [but mostly ridiculous] points" threads?

honestly, I think she's more than entitled to think that. Like Pat said, at least she didn't say 'oh this person has ridiculous hair'. Freedom of opinion, what?
But I like throwing stuff up there because I CAN. And if I decide to put something of sentimental value up there, hooray, I want to have that with me at all times. That's really a nice way to keep a memory or whatever that object does for you.
I think decorating dreads is really about changing them. Dreadlocks are a hairstyle that simultaneously provides you with boundless ways to wear them, and they always look nice, and yet they are always the same. Some people, such as some youtube girl who chopped her dreads in another thread on here, complained about wanting to change her hair. Decorating brings back excitement to someone whose bored. Granted that they should have thought about that before getting dreads, but still, at least their having fun with them.
Some dread beads have been circulating different dread sets for years and years, passed on from friend to friend. If you don't want that, that's cool, I can handle that. I can handle it because I have dreads in the first place, and generally don't give half a fuck about what people think, I do this for me and me only. But I think that's in a word, lovely. What a great way to share yourself.
I happen to have two dread 'beads' that are actually plugs that my flesh tunnels are now too big to keep. They are like $75 for the pair, and they're stone, not acrylic, some I don't have to worry about them cracking ever or anything. I'm not going to throw that away, I spent that much because I loved them, they were part of another 'journey' for me (stretching, in my case, and don't go off on me about stretching, to each their own). Now they are in my hair and will be there until I comb or cut, which right now feels like a long way away. If I ever dread again, which I certainly intend to at this junction in my life, I will put them back in, or perhaps hand one off to a friend to celebrate their dreads.
Decorating anything usually has deep meaning to the decorated person. Even if it is for fashion purposes, that person is totally allowed to do that to themselves. It's not like it's hurting anyone. I just don't really understand how people who are part of a community like dreadheads are could really get riled up about silly things like TO DECORATE OR NOT TO DECORATE or NATURAL VS. NONNATURAL. Come on guys, we're already united, why war over such trivial things.
vigilante, if you don't like them, that's totally okay. And you're allowed to say so. Perhaps in a nicer way, but regardless, you are allowed to think and say that.
And everyone else, it's a forum. We thrive on opinions. Keep an open mind to those who have closed there's, sheesh.
