What would be the best strategy

What you do is have the dog in the house for a few weeks in secret and then ask your parents "What were the reasons for you not letting me keep a dog" and then they are all like "rah rah rah they shit everywhere and smell bad etc, etc" and then you scream "WRONG! I HAD A DOG HERE AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE" and then they will let you keep it.

Oh, and to Salmon4me, yeah they had tons of pets when they were younger. *I* had tons of pets... And now all of a sudden my mom says no more... I don't have any of my own now Least I have my weekend dog and cat...
